Grats to the prize winners, and thanks all for a very active and challenging season.

I started to do a poll to extend offline drafting by one round, but realized I can trick Yahoo and leave things as is.
When I set the draft order in Yahoo I can just set it first to worst. We will do our offline drafts in worst-first as the rules currently state.
As we have 7 players coming in to the live drafts, an even round (8) becomes first. As we are snaking back, setting the order in reverse will fix this.
Topic exists because I had set order worst-first in yahoo and realized first was picking first (round 8). I had to manually set order for 19 rounds and I made mistakes (fortunately all in the 14th round).
Will put up an AWOL teams poll for 6/5.

New poll up for 33% or recalculate based on 3 year averages for the bat category multipliers.
Thanks to all for self-policing your rosters.
I have had some questions on what is allowed and what is not as far as illegal rosters.
I think the simplest guideline is IF A TEAM HAS 14+ NON-DL PITCHERS THEY ARE IN VIOLATION.
I think it wise the league took the route we did as there are so many concerns DL/NA that only having 3 moves a week could severely hamper legitimate rosters. However, if you notice someone carrying 14+ (not including the DL) pitchers, that manager is sacrificing bats to carry additional arms please let me know and we will discuss what to do (quick poll to determine penalty).
I would hope we can all honor our agreement that this is not an issue, but I did want to outline the most basic test I suggest is used to determine what constitutes a non-legal roster.

New poll up for buffing bats. More keeper rule polls coming next.
Want to get these keeper and points things set for next year ASAP so that if you decide to rebuild in 2012, you will know what you are in for.
Cheers

4 votes to 2 for everyone to abide with self policing.
Of course you can bench players, but you must have a player to fill every starting position (2C, 1x1B, 5xOF, etc.).
FLICK has already adjusted his team. I will be doing so in a couple of minutes.

Please chime in on a 72 hour poll regarding roster holes.
The teams involved have all agreed to fill holes by Tuesday, May 8th (or have already done so if they had moves remaining before this topic became urgent).

Shifting polls once again as it has come to my attention several are wanting roster holes (not starting a bat) to be addressed ASAP.
Proposal for rule change here: http://www.theunionofconcernedgamers.com/?p=632
Other ideas, options, suggestions ... get them to me via email ,twitter, blog comment, Y! league board post, etc.
I will take all of the options and create a 1-week poll running 5/6 - 5/13 (or until any option gets 7 votes).
The buff bats poll will run right after (5/13 - 5/20).
Cheers!

One week left to vote on the trade protest time rule change proposal (only 5 have voted).
Also, future polls will run just 1 week. Please check the message board when you drop in :)
I was going to have the next poll be about keeper salary cap, however, many of you have emailed/tweeted about SP #bat imbalance.
A little history, this points system has been in play for 20 years unchanged, however, recent years have vastly favored pitching due to PED testing. I did some analysis for the last 2 years here:http://www.theunionofconcernedgamers.com/?p=610 and here: http://www.theunionofconcernedgamers.com/?p=617
The next poll after trade protest time will be on a proposal to buff bats (for 2013).
To save you from reading two medium length articles, the proposal is to bump runs by 0.5 pts to 2 and to equate the importance of BI to Runs by increasing BI from 1 to 2. Preliminary feedback welcome now via message board, the blog, or message me.
Future polls:
* salary cap increase for keepers (aztec)
* add one additional offline draft round (wynams)
* illegal rosters penalty (many)
* YOUR IDEA HERE! EMAIL TWEET OR MSG ME
Thanks!

* do over on poll #1 which now includes suggestion from Aztec
* clarification on trade system, we use "league votes" so if you feel a trade is unfair, vote against it. If there are 4 votes, trade will be blocked
* will follow up poll 1 with poll 2, which will discuss trade review time (currently 72 hours). More polls to come
Happy Spring!

Sorry about the order of the 14th round. In case you missed it, I mentioned I had to manually do the draft order and as a result majorly botched the 14th round. If you were present, we had the person occupying your draft place pick for you and the results have been swapped.
Alexei Ramirez was supposed to be taken, but Alexi Casilla was mistakenly taken during this process. Can't fault anyone but myself, and I hope this corrects it to satisfaction of all.

Quick note to thank everyone for their patience as we progressed the season a bit with keeper submission and our first drafts.
I hope everyone has a blast this year. I meant to have a broader time range to discuss any outstanding league issues, but as we filled (and refilled) so late in the season, any discussions on league tweaking will have to take place during this season.
I hope that anything the league desires we can adopt rules for during the course of '12 to implement in '13.
Roger (Aztec) has already suggested we up the per team keeper salary cap. On entering teams and setting the draft order, I have realized a couple of topics I will be suggesting myself. We will save those for after our draft to allow everyone to focus on research.
The process for making a change will be to conduct a league poll on this website. There is no rule yet for what is required for something to pass. So there is another idea right there ... probably a good place to start. I will make this the first poll of '12 and it will run from April 1st - May 15th.
If there is something you would like put to vote, state your case in a new topic and we will come up with what the suitable options are, and put it to a league vote.
Finally, there are a couple of bookkeeping items.
1. There is a twitter list of all of our users here: https://twitter.com/#!/wynams/ucg/members
2. I will be taking the google document for Yahoo Free agents down later today as I will not be maintaining it.
3. Don't forget our live draft at 6:30PST Sunday, March 18th. If you cannot make it, please set any custom rankings you desire to give autopick the best shot of generating happy results.
4. I have entered our keepers and set the draft order for the live draft. Our keepers are not showing up on our teams yet (they will after the live draft), but you can verify your team here: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/636/draftresults
