Welcome back. I am going to list all of the basic rules of the league.
This is a redraft league. We draft 20 rounds. It is listed as a freeze league, but that is only because it allows us to do certain things, like customize the draft order. The draft will be online this season.
We are a weekly head to head league, and we are a category league.
It looks like we will have 16 teams again. If we do, we will have 8 teams make the playoffs. I like to keep as many people involved as long as possible. The division winners get the top 2 seeds, and the next 6 best records slot in behind them. Higher seed is the tie-breaker in the playoffs.
All season long, we have a minimum innings and at bats each week. You need to get to 25 innings pitched, and 100 plate appearances. Make sure you hit these minimums. If you miss it, you will lose all 6 offensive or pitching categories and you will be fined $20 for screwing up the competitive balance of the league. I may consider lowering that to 20 if we still have covid issues in baseball like we did last year when many games were postponed or cancelled.
You are allowed to add up to three players per week. Each move costs $1. When you make a move, it will show up on your roster the following day. So if you see a pitcher is going on Friday, and you want him, make the move on Thursday or sooner.
The league fee is $150 per team, plus we raise a lot of money through free agency.
The division winners will get $150 each.
Champion gets $1050 plus all free agent money (typically about $500)
2nd place gets $600
3rd place gets $300
4th place gets $150
All trades are approved by me as the commissioner. I will generally approve them almost as soon as I see them as long as they are reasonable. Only a couple of trades have been vetoed over the past 20 years when they were incredibly one sided.
Any other questions, let me know. Good luck, and lets hope we get a full season in this year.
