    • Josh Willingham is not in the Twins' lineup Sunday after being given a cortisone shot in his ailing left knee.
Advice: The knee has been giving Willingham issues for a while, so the club decided it was best to give him a shot in hopes that it speeds along the recovery process. The outfielder is hoping to be back in the lineup Tuesday after Monday's off day. Oswaldo Arcia is starting in left field Sunday.

    • Heath Bell was charged with the loss after allowing a ninth inning solo homer to Giancarlo Stanton in a tie game Monday.
Advice: Entering a 2-2 contest in the top of the ninth, Bell struck out Ed Lucas before Stanton homered to right. Bell (4.23 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) has allowed a home run in three consecutive appearances. Consider it a course-correction after he enjoyed some good luck earlier this season. With J.J. Putz (elbow) close to returning, the clock on Bell's reign as closer may be ticking.

    • Heath Bell gave up his second homer in two days Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Advice: Bell was working with a four-run lead, so the fact that he allowed a solo homer and another run didn't cost the Diamondbacks. Still, it's a bit of a concern that he's suddenly allowed homers to Juan Uribe and Ramon Hernandez the last two days. He had gone 25 straight appearances without giving up a homer after allowing two in his season debut April 2.

    • B.J. Upton went 1-for-4 with a double Sunday against the Giants.
Advice: Upton was coming off a two-homer performance on Saturday, so he was bumped to the No. 5 spot in the lineup. The double was his sixth extra-base hit in his last 13 games. Upton is starting to show signs of life, but is still batting just .167/.264/.315 in 60 games this season.

    • B.J. Upton went 2-for-4 with two home runs in the Braves' comeback victory over the Giants on Saturday.
Advice: The multi-homer game was his first this year, giving him eight home runs through 59 games. We keep looking for signs that Upton may be figuring it out and this may finally be it. But until he does it for a few games in a row, we'll wait before pronouncing him right this time.

    • Huston Street earned his 14th save of the year Monday as the Padres beat the Giants 5-3.
Advice: Street entered with a 5-3 lead in the 13th inning and stranded Gregor Blanco, who reached on a single. Street isn't striking anyone out -- he has 13 over 24 games -- and has tossed only four perfect innings in 2013. Despite Street's struggles, he's 14-for-15 in save conversions and has a good amount of job security.

    • Huston Street allowed a run on two hits Saturday, but escaped with his 12th save of the year against the Diamondbacks.
Advice: With one out, Cliff Pennington reached on infield single. Two batters later, he was doubled in by Gerardo Parra. Street next induced a game-ending fly out from Didi Gregorius. It was Street's first appearance since the Padres activated him from the disabled list (strained left calf). The veteran closer has been highly susceptible to damage this year, going 0-3 with a 4.64 ERA. Because of his name, Street presumably has plenty of job security.

That's the good news for Seattle management and AL-only owners still holding out hope he'll turn it around. To the naked eye, however, Harang just doesn't have the stuff to get out major league hitters anymore.
