    • Matt Kemp was removed as part of a double-switch during Saturday's game after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
Advice: Kemp was visibly upset with the decision, and he briefly left the dugout after being removed. The center fielder was likely frustrated with his performance of late, as Kemp left five runners on base and is now hitting .261/.313/.344 with just two homers in 47 games. Like the Dodgers, though, fantasy owners can't bench the star, even in the midst of his struggles.

    • Matt Kemp launched his second homer of the season Monday off the Dodgers' Yovani Gallardo.
Advice: All is right in the world; Kemp again has more homers than Juan Pierre. Kemp's previous homer came back on April 24. He just finished up a series against the Braves in which he went 1-for-13 as the Dodgers were swept.

    • Carlos Gomez went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs but the Brewers lost to the Pirates on Saturday.
Advice: The multi-homer game was Gomez's first in his career, but he was the only one able to do any damage against the Pirates on Saturday. He now has eight home runs on the year and a .331/.376/.586 line to go with nine stolen bases. The average is still likely to come down quite a bit when all is said and done, but he's showing last season's counting-stats breakout was for real.

    • Angel Pagan hit a walkoff two-run inside-the-park homer in the 10th inning Saturday as the Giants marched back to defeat the Rockies by a score of 6-5.
Advice: The Giants trailed at two different points in the game but kept plugging away and finally broke through when Pagan launched a towering shot to "Triples Alley" at AT&T Park with one out in the bottom of the 10th. The ball bounced high off the wall and into center field, allowing Pagan to travel all the way around the diamond. It was a wild finish.

    • Angel Pagan went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 8-0 victory against the Nationals.
Advice: Pagan left Sunday's game with flu-like symptoms and was a game-time decision against Washington. He showed no ill-effects on the field, smacking an RBI double in the fifth against reliever Craig Stammen and adding a two-run single off Henry Rodriguez in the seventh. Despite the nice effort, Pagan is batting just .218/.279/.400 in May.

    • Yankees placed OF Curtis Granderson on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured fifth metacarpal of his left hand.
Advice: Granderson suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of Friday night's game. • Curtis Granderson (fractured knuckle) will miss a minimum of four weeks.
Advice: Granderson sustained the injury when he was hit by a pitch during the fifth inning of Friday's game against the Rays. It's a tough blow for the Yankees, who will turn back to Ichiro Suzuki and Brennan Boesch to carry the load while Granderson is sidelined.

    • Curtis Granderson went 3-for-3 with his first home run of the season, but the Yankees lost to the Orioles on Wednesday.
Advice: The home run came seven games in, and it gave him his first RBI of 2013. His third-inning double was also a first. Yankees manager Joe Girardi had Granderson batting leadoff in an attempt to get his bat going. He should move toward the middle of the order eventually.

    • Carlos Quentin went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk in his return to the starting lineup on Friday.
Advice: Quentin's first multihit game since April 30 has him back over the Mendoza Line at .203 for the first time in three weeks. Now all he needs is a multi-RBI game; he has just one this season.

    • Carlos Quentin (knee) is back in Friday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.
Advice: Quentin hurt his left knee in an awkward slide on Monday and received a cortisone shot on Tuesday. The 30-year-old is hitting just .178 with four homers and a .674 OPS in 30 games this season.

Advice: The Padres were expecting Quentin to miss just one game after he aggravated his chronic knee injury on an awkward slide Monday. Advice: Saunders is 3-for-27 with 13 strikeouts and no walks in his last eight games. It's not going to get him taken out of Seattle's lineup, but it might get him knocked down from the top of the order, at least for a bit. He's a No. 6 or 7 hitter on a decent offense.

Advice: Baker is only playing against left-handers, so manager Ron Washington made the switch back to David Murphy when the Mariners brought in a righty. Baker has been terrific at his job so far, hitting .354 with five homers in 48 at-bats. Still, his fantasy value is quite limited while he plays on average twice a week.

    • A.J. Pollock went 3-for-4 with an RBI from the leadoff spot in Friday's win.
Advice: Pollock was probably looking at a demotion right about now if Adam Eaton's rehab went as hoped. As is, he'll remain in the majors and continue to start against lefties for a few more weeks. He's 8-for-14 the last five days after breaking out of a 1-for-19 slump.

    • Adrian Gonzalez had three hits, including his fifth homer, and the Dodgers beat the Cardinals 5-3 on Saturday.
Advice: Gonzalez actually fell just a triple short of the cycle, driving in a run with each of his three hits. The first baseman was actually on base five times in total, as he was walked twice on the night as well. The rest of the Dodgers' sluggers may be slumping, but Gonzalez looks just fine these days. • Josh Hamilton launched his seventh home run of the season in a win over the Royals on Saturday.
Advice: Look who is finally showing some signs of life. After batting .202 with two homers over his first 32 games this season, Hamilton has gone deep five times in his last 17 games. The veteran outfielder wasn't a good bet to match his production from Texas to begin with, but he's surely better than he has shown early on.

    • Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with his major league-leading 16th homer in a win over the Blue Jays on Friday.
Advice: The home run was a solo shot. Davis cooled down a bit after his ridiculous start to the season, but now he's red-hot once again. The 27-year-old slugger has gone deep in three straight games and five out of his last seven. Meanwhile, his batting line sits at a ridiculous .337/.426/.723 through 47 games. We could be witnessing a true breakout here.

    • Chris Davis went 4-for-4 with his 14th home run Wednesday, and the Orioles beat the Yankees 6-3.
Advice: Davis continues to tear the cover off the baseball, now hitting .329/.420/.690 through 45 games this season. He is tied with Justin Upton for the league lead in home runs, and he trails only Miguel Cabrera in RBI. Davis is showing that his breakout 2012 was legit.

    • Twins optioned OF Oswaldo Arcia to Triple-A Rochester.
Advice: Despite an 0-for-3 effort on Friday, the 22-year-old rookie made a very strong impression during his short time with the Twins. Through his first 30 games, he hit .255/.318/.449 with four homers and 14 RBI. He had struggled to find consistent at-bats in recent days though, and the Twins would likely prefer him playing on a nightly basis at the Triple-A level. Ryan Doumit should see an increase in playing time.
