Rangers recalled INF Jurickson Profar from Triple-A Round Rock.
Advice: Profar will see regular starts at second base while Ian Kinsler (intercostal) is on the disabled list. Baseball's top prospect was batting .278/.370/.438 with four homers and six steals in 37 games at the Triple-A level and is worth an add in fantasy leagues based purely on talent and ceiling. But he won't have a guaranteed role when Kinsler returns.

Stephen Drew (back) is not in Saturday's lineup.
Advice: Drew played through a back issue on Friday and the Red Sox don't want to risk it again. The injury is not considered serious, though, and Drew will try to return on Sunday.

David Ross is still experiencing concussion symptoms and is likely to be re-examined Monday in Boston.
Advice: Ross was placed on the 7-day disabled list last Sunday and will not be ready to return when he's first eligible. Ryan Lavarnway will continue to serve as Jarrod Saltalamacchia's backup for now.

Zack Cozart was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to illness.
Advice: He should be fine in a day or two. Cesar Izturis is taking Cozart's place at shortstop.

Mark Teixeira (wrist) is aiming to return from the disabled list on May 30 or 31.
Advice: "It's great -- I couldn't be happier with my rehab," Teixeira said. "I'm looking at the end of May, sometime around the 30th or 31st maybe, to get back out there playing with the Yankees. I'm feeling great." Teixeira has been taking batting practice in the cages but still needs to take live BP on the field. "I would say the next step would be some live BP; we're not there yet," manager Joe Girardi said. "Then maybe some sim games, hopefully, then some rehab games. That's the progression, but we're still in the BP phase."

Gordon Beckham (hand) hopes to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Charlotte.
Advice: Beckham had surgery last month to remove the hamate bone from his left hand, but he has increased baseball activities in recent days and is ready to test himself in game action. He figures to rejoin the White Sox by the end of the month.

David Freese is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Mets.
Advice: Freese went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts on Tuesday and is now batting just .216/.296/.250 with zero homers in 26 games this season. Matt Carpenter will start at third base and Daniel Descalso will play second.

Shin-Soo Choo went 4-for-5 with two home runs in the Reds' 4-0 win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
Advice: Choo also singled twice and scored three runs total. The leadoff hitter is now batting .322 with 33 runs scored. He's been a fantasy revelation this year, and he's showing no signs of stopping.

Chris Stewart will undergo an MRI on his left groin.
Advice: Stewart injured himself when he slid into third base awkwardly during Thursday's game. He didn't hear a pop, but it's still possible he could be sidelined for a while.

Ryan Howard will have a precautionary MRI on his left knee Monday.
Advice: The full extent of the injury isn't yet known, but it could provide some context to Howard's early struggles. The Phillies will provide an update on his status following the results of the MRI. Howard is not expected to play in Monday's game against the Marlins.

John Jaso (leg) indicated Friday that his right leg is still sore, making him unlikely to be available for Friday night's game against the Royals.
Advice: Jaso was hit in the leg by a pitch during Wednesday's game and said that it still hurt running to his mailbox. Derek Norris is will continue to handle the catching duties while Jaso is sidelined.

Ike Davis is back in the cleanup spot on Wednesday.
Advice: Davis has a brutal .169/.261/.288 batting line and 40 strikeouts in 35 games this season, but the Mets will stick with him and hope that he gets it going soon.

Bryce Harper (nausea, shoulder, knee) is also dealing with a sore rib cage.
Advice: Harper didn't report the soreness in his rib cage on Tuesday. In addition to the rib cage soreness, he's also battling a sore shoulder, sore knee and nausea as a result of Monday's collision with the wall. He was able to work out some prior to Wednesday's game, though, and remains day-to-day.

Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-4 with a double in Friday's loss to the Yankees.
Advice: Encarnacion now has three multi-hit games in his last four and has pulled his batting average up from .218 to .247 along the way. Fortunately, he has been a consistent source of power even during his struggles. He's currently tied for the AL lead with 11 home runs.

Michael Cuddyer (neck) isn't sure he'll be ready for activation from the disabled list on May 24 when first eligible.
Advice: "I was still pretty locked up yesterday after the epidural, but I'm feeling a little better today," Cuddyer said Thursday. The outfielder is still a few days away from resuming baseball activities. A clearer picture of his timetable should be known at that time.
