    • Fans 10 Sunday
Ryan allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings Sunday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Ryan got through four innings unscathed while racking up eight of his 10 strikeouts over that span. He found himself in some immediate trouble in the fifth after allowing a leadoff triple and wound up surrendering two runs in the inning following a pair of base knocks and a fielding error. Sunday was Ryan's second double-digit strikeout performance this season and his second straight outing without walking a batter. He's given up two runs or less in four of his last five starts, though that's only amounted to one win. The 28-year-old will carry an excellent 3.21 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 110:15 K:BB (103.2 innings) into a meeting with the ascending Astros over the weekend. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

    • Re-entering rotation Wednesday
Jones is listed as the Pirates' starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals at PNC Park.

Advice: Jones will slot back into the rotation for the first time since June 22 after the Pirates opted to skip his turn this past week. The decision to bypass Jones' turn wasn't based on any injury; instead, the Pirates are cognizant of keeping the 23-year-old right-hander's workload in check during his first season in the majors. The Pirates haven't offered up a firm innings limit for Jones in 2024 nor outlined their plans on when/if he might be skipped again, but fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to keep him active when he's confirmed to start. Though he's had more trouble keeping walks in check in his recent starts compared to earlier in the campaign, Jones will still head into his 16th start of the season Wednesday with stellar ratios (3.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 19.4 K-BB%). • Joe Ryan strikes out 10 in no-decision vs. M’s
Joe Ryan recorded 10 strikeouts and was charged with two runs (one earned) over 5 2/3 innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Ryan delivered an outstanding performance on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, generating 16 swinging strikes - including 11 on his four-seam fastball alone - and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He gave up six hits and didn’t hand out a free pass, although he did hit a pair of batters as well. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor recorded his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season and will aim to keep the momentum going when he faces the Astros on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • McMahon steals base, scores twice in win Sunday
Ryan McMahon went 1-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base against the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: McMahon’s stolen base was his third of the year. He started the scoring as he came around on a Garrett Crochet balk in the second inning and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Michael Toglia in the 14th inning. McMahon is hitting .270 with an .812 OPS, 14 home runs and 42 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm

    • Earns third save
Chapman gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning but still managed to pick up his third save Sunday against Atlanta.

Advice: Chapman came in with a three-run lead in the ninth and worked in and out of trouble to grab his second save in his last four appearances. The veteran has taken over the Pirates' ninth-inning role since losing closer David Bednar to an oblique injury June 19th. There is still no timetable for Bednar's return, so Chapman is likely looking at a few more save opportunities in the meantime. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:23 pm
    • Launches 12th homer
Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a strikeout in Sunday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Cruz hit a 452-foot missile off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning to give the Pirates a lead they wouldn't relinquish. It was the third-longest homer of his career, and it had an exit velocity of 117.3 MPH, which is also the third-hardest of his career. There have been five home runs with exit velocities of 117 or more this season, and Cruz has two of them. The 25-year-old has three long balls over his last seven games, and he's up to 12 homers, 36 RBI, six steals and 36 runs for the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:56 am

    • Hitting streak over at 25
Reynolds went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday's 4-2 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Reynolds didn't get the ball out of the infield Sunday, recording a pair of groundouts to go with two strikeouts. His 25-game hitting streak is the longest in MLB this season and the fifth longest by a Pirates player since 1900. He entered June with a .249/.320/.402 slash line and finishes at .274/.341/.466. The 29-year-old has 13 homers, 46 RBI and five stolen bases for the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 am

    • Oneil Cruz crushes two-run homer in win over ATL
Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer Sunday in a 4-2 victory for the Pirates over Atlanta.

Advice: Cruz also singled and walked. The 25-year-old absolutely obliterated a 452-foot shot off Spencer Schwellenbach to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead with Jack Suwinski on base at that time. Cruz continues to frustrate in what is essentially his first full season of MLB action, but games like this one remind that there are very few players in the sport who have as much talent. • Aroldis Chapman gets save despite allowing run
Aroldis Chapman allowed a run but still picked up a save Sunday against Atlanta.

Advice: Chapman gave up a sacrifice fly to Orlando Arcia, but it still left Atlanta down 4-2. It didn’t change the outcome of the game, but it did hurt his ERA, which climbed to 3.87. It’s the third save of the year for Chapman, and he’ll likely see the bulk of chance with David Bednar on the injured list with a strained oblique. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:11 am
