      Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

      Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames.       William Contreras went 2-for-5 against the Rockies on Thursday.

      Maeda (2-5) allowed nine runs on nine hits across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Twins. He walked three and struck out three.

      Advice: It was another ugly performance for Maeda, who saw his season ERA climb to 6.71. Outside of a clean first inning, the veteran allowed multiple runs to score in each of his other frames. Maeda had a decent 2023 campaign for these same Twins, posting a 4.23 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 104.1 innings, but he hasn't carried that over into his first season in Detroit.       Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Westburg has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, going 16-for-54 (.296) with three homers and seven RBI in that span. The infielder is up to 14 homers this season while adding 49 RBI, 42 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .280/.329/.508 slash line across 80 contests. He continues to split time between second base and third base, but he's firmly in the middle of the Orioles' lineup on a near-everyday basis, and he has the production to match that role.       Advice: Henderson opened the scoring with his third-inning blast, which was his first homer in seven games. The shortstop remains excellent atop the Orioles' order, having gone 15-for-41 (.366) over his last 10 contests.       Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer on Thursday in the Orioles’ loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Henderson was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle by the fifth inning of this one as he continues to build a credible American League MVP Award resume heading towards his first All-Star Game appearance in a few weeks. The 23-year-old emerging franchise cornerstone took Mariners starter Bryce Miller deep in the third inning for his 27th round-tripper of the season and finished with his ninth three-hit performance of the first half.     • Kenta Maeda tagged for nine runs by former team
      Kenta Maeda was lit up for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings by his former team in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

      Advice: It’d be nice to think that such an awful performance was the result of his old team knowing something no one else did, but Maeda actually turned in one of his better starts of the year against the Twins back in April. This makes losses in four straight decisions for him, and his ERA stands at 6.71. Maybe the Tigers will try stashing him on the IL again, though that didn’t work in May. It seems more likely that they’ll just live with the results, as contention scarcely appears to be in the cards anyway.
