    • Will begin swinging this week
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas (ribs) will begin swinging a bat this week, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Casas underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is apparently ready to take the next step. He had been lightly swinging a bat but never graduated to swinging with full force. Cora said the team will reveal more details Wednesday. Casas is targeting a return for July 2, which might be too ambitious. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • Makes impact at leadoff
India batted leadoff and went 2-for-2 with two walks, two doubles, two steals and three runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: He was also hit by a pitch. India batted leadoff for a second straight game, filling in at the spot normally handled by TJ Friedl, who was added to the 10-day injured list Monday with a hamstring injury. In two games atop the order, India is 5-for-6 with three walks, four doubles, two steals and six runs scored. The two steals lifted him to eight for the season. He's hit safely in seven straight, going 13-for-25 with seven extra-base hits during the streak. Rotowire.com Today, 4:58 am

    • Collects 10th save
Scott earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Kansas City, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing one hit.

Advice: Scott worked around a single yielded to Salvador Perez and subsequent pinch-run stolen base by Dairon Blanco to secure double-digit saves for the third consecutive season. The left-handed closer has been especially stingy since May 1, producing a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings. Scott has blown only two saves in 2024 and is firmly cemented as the closer in Miami. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:05 pm
    • McCormick drives in two in win over Rockies
Chas McCormick went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Rockies.

Advice: McCormick’s two-RBI single in the first capped off a five-run inning for the Astros, who sent all nine batters to the plate against embattled starter Austin Gomber. McCormick also picked up a steal on the night, his fifth of the season, but is slashing a meager .250/.262/.575 on the month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm

    • Tanner Scott picks up 10th save vs. Royals
Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Scott allowed a one-out single to Salvador Perez in the ninth but went on to retire the next two batters he faced. The veteran lefty now has 10 saves on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.59 on the season. Scott has converted on 10 of his 12 save opportunities, but saves have been hard to come by for the 28-win Marlins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 pm
    • India has two hits, two steals in loss
Jonathan India went 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and two steals in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: India is enjoying a tremendous month of June, going 26-for-72 (.361) with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and three steals. India has also been leading off since TJ Friedl went on the IL, which is more good news for his fantasy value. With Noelvi Marte also nearing a return and this Reds lineup getting deeper, India’s fantasy stock is on the rise. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm

    • Nearing rehab assignment
Senga (shoulder/triceps) said Tuesday he expects to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next week, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw a successful live batting practice session Sunday and is scheduled for another Thursday, which could be the final hurdle before he's cleared for minor-league games. Senga will need multiple rehab starts to build up his workload before making his season debut for the Mets, so he likely won't be activated from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break. • Kodai Senga (shoulder) nearing rehab assignment
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is aiming to kick off a minor league rehab assignment next week.

Advice: Senga is scheduled to face hitters on Thursday in a live batting practice session, which will likely determine whether he’s ready to head out on an extended rehab assignment. The 31-year-old righty is going to require several rehab outings to build up his strength and stamina before making his season debut at some point after the All-Star break. • M’s lose Bryan Woo to IL with hamstring strain
Mariners placed RHP Bryan Woo on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Woo has been phenomenal this season for Seattle, registering a microscopic 1.77 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 28/3 K/BB ratio across 40 2/3 innings (eight starts), but has struggled to stay healthy. The 24-year-old righty was lifted from the fourth inning of Monday’s start against the Rays with a right hamstring tightness, and a subsequent MRI revealed a low-grade strain. He’s going to miss at least a couple weeks, even with this being arguably the best-case scenario outcome. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm
