      Carroll went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple and a run scored in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Miami.

      Advice: Arizona's offense couldn't get anything going until Carroll tripled and scored in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was the outfielder's fourth triple of the season, all coming within the last eight games.       Phillips (hamstring) retired all three batters he faced -- including two by strikeout -- in a rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

      Advice: Phillips needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame. The appearance was the first for the closer since he went on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain May 5.     • Tanner Houck strong for six innings in no-decision
      Tanner Houck pitched six innings of one-run ball against the Brewers on Sunday.

      Advice: Houck struck out seven and walked none in his latest excellent outing. Alas, he didn’t get the victory, as the Red Sox only scored their second run in the bottom of the eighth.       Houck did not factor into the decision Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing one earned run on seven hits and one walk through six innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Houck was excellent yet again, marking his third consecutive start allowing one earned run or fewer. The 27-year-old has not allowed a home run since April 12, and his microscopic 0.14 HR/9 leads the league. Houck (4-5) now owns a 1.90 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 71 innings this year.       Alexis Díaz struck out both batters he faced for a save Sunday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The Reds were up 4-0 to start the ninth, so Díaz didn’t enter then. Instead, he came in after Carson Spiers allowed Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman to reach with one out, creating the save opportunity. Díaz then retired Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages to end the game.       Advice: Diaz closed the door on the Dodgers for the second consecutive game, though he ran both counts full and needed 16 pitches to record the final two outs. It was the fourth consecutive scoreless outing for Diaz, who appears to be turning things around after allowing 17 baserunners and 10 runs (nine earned) while blowing a save and earning two losses over his previous seven appearances spanning 5.2 innings between April 29 and May 19.       Corbin Carroll tripled, walked and scored a run as the Diamondbacks fell to the Marlins on Sunday afternoon in Miami.

      Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder smacked a one-out triple off of Calvin Faucher in the eighth inning and dashed home with the Diamondbacks’ first run on a ground ball off the bat of Lourdes Gurriel Jr. While Carroll’s bat has perked up over the past couple of weeks, he’s still slashing an anemic .188/.274/.284 on the season to go along with two homers, 17 RBI and nine stolen bases.       Evan Phillips (hamstring) fired a perfect inning in his first minor league rehab appearance at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

      Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in order — getting a pair of strikeouts and a ground out.       Seager went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Seager had just two homers through the end of April, but his power swing has returned in a big way. The shortstop has clubbed six homers over his last six games and is now at 11 long balls on the year. He's also gone 13-for-37 (.351) during a 10-game hitting streak.
