    • Picks up first steal of 2024
Alvarez went 1-for--4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 22-year-old doesn't run much, but he's never been caught stealing in the majors, going 3-for-3 in 143 MLB games. Alvarez is struggling to get going at the plate, slashing .241/.293/.370 through 15 games with a homer, a steal, seven runs and eight RBI, but he remains locked in as the Mets' near-everyday catcher. • Finally goes yard
Acuna went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Astros.

Advice: It took 17 games, but last year's NL MVP finally went deep in 2024, as Acuna got hold of a J.P. France sweeper to lead off the fifth inning and launched it 422 feet to straightaway center field. Despite the slow start in the power department, the 26-year-old has still been very productive from a fantasy perspective, slashing .294/.400/.397 with six RBI, eight steals and 17 runs scored -- third in the Senior Circuit behind Mookie Betts (22) and Ketel Marte (20). • Notches fourth save
Miller pitched a scoreless ninth inning against the Cardinals to record his fourth save Wednesday, striking out two and walking one while not allowing any hits.

Advice: Miller entered the contest with a three-run lead in the top of the ninth and proceeded to walk the leadoff man before getting two of the next three batters to go down on strikes, both swinging. The right-hander needed only nine pitches to retire the final three batters and record his fourth save in as many chances. Miller has not allowed a hit over his last four appearances, posting a 9:1 K:BB over that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 5:52 am

    • Cranks third home run
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Bellinger is off to a bit of a slow start, with just a .200 batting average, a .667 OPS and three home runs across 18 games. However, he is now riding a modest four-game hitting streak, and perhaps Wednesday's long ball will give him another boost of momentum. Bellinger batted .307 with an .881 OPS and 26 home runs a season ago, so the upside is certainly there. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm

    • Up to seven saves
Finnegan earned the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Dodgers, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan's now gone seven straight appearances (6.2 innings) without allowing an earned run. He's up to seven saves on the year, tying Ryan Helsley and Clay Holmes for the league lead. The 32-year-old Finnegan lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB through his first 8.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:55 pm
    • Cody Bellinger goes deep in victory over D’Backs
Cody Bellinger blasted a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning on Wednesday, powering the Cubs to a 5-3 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 28-year-old slugger broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning when he crushed a 396-foot (104.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Diamondbacks’ starter Brandon Pfaadt. He also singled in the eighth inning and came around to score on a run-scoring knock off the bat of Michael Busch. Bellinger finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .200/.296/.371 with three long balls and 12 RBI on the season. He’s still looking for his first stolen base though, after nabbing 20 bags during the 2023 season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:37 pm

    • Mason Miller fans two Wednesday for fourth save
Mason Miller struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cardinals to record his fourth save of the season.

Advice: Miller was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and wound up working around a leadoff walk to Iván Herrera by striking out Masyn Winn, coaxing a harmless fly out from Alec Burleson and whiffing Brendan Donovan to preserve the victory. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty, who touched triple digits 12 times in this outing, has quickly blossomed into one of the most exciting pitchers in the game. There’s a chance he’s already an elite fantasy closer. He’s converted all four of his save opportunities this season to go along with a 17/4 K/BB ratio across nine innings (seven appearances). • Ronald Acuña Jr. hits first homer in Braves’ win
Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-5 and finally hit his first homer Wednesday as the Braves bested the Astros 5-4 in 10 innings.

Advice: Acuña’s first homer was a 422-foot blast off J.P. France. It was one of two balls he hit 109 mph today, with the other resulting in an error in the third inning. The homer came in his 17th game of the season. His longest homerless drought last year was 14 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:56 pm
    • Kyle Finnegan quiets Dodgers to net seventh save
Kyle Finnegan fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Dodgers to record his seventh save of the season.

Advice: Finnegan was summoned to protect a two-run margin in the final frame and needed just 13 pitches (10 strikes) to slam the door. He got Will Smith to ground out and coaxed a harmless fly out from Max Muncy before fanning Teoscar Hernández to end the contest. He’s converted seven of his eight save opportunities this season to go along with a respectable 3.24 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8/5 K/BB ratio across 8 1/3 innings (nine appearances).
