      Advice: Fried worked five scoreless frames until the Tigers finally broke through with a run in the sixth inning. He wasn't very efficient Monday, throwing 60 of 103 pitches for strikes while failing to complete six innings for the second straight outing.       Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored against the Tigers on Monday.

      Max Fried allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Monday.



      Advice: Fried gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He left the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning, but Jesse Chavez escaped the jam without further damage. It was a solid start for Fried, though the Braves couldn’t provide him with any run support while he was in the game. He continues to have a nice season as he lowered his ERA to 3.11 with the effort. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road this weekend.

    • Dodgers expect Betts (hand) to miss 6-8 weeks
      The Dodgers’ current guess is that Mookie Betts will miss 6-8 weeks with a fractured left hand.
