      Advice: There must be something about the city of Philadelphia or Citizens Bank itself that just calms Sewald because he did on Friday what he did four times in the last NLCS: shut the Phillies down.       Advice: Foley was summoned to protect a 2-1 lead with two outs in the eighth inning and induced a groundout from Andrew Vaughn. He hit Paul DeJong with a pitch in the ninth but ended the game with a double play to earn his 13th save of the season. Foley has not allowed an earned run in seven June appearances and is now 13-for-15 in save chances with a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB over 27 innings in 2024. He then returned for the ninth where he plunked Paul DeJong with one out in the inning to bring the go-ahead run to the plate again. Andrew Benintendi then lined out to center field and DeJong forgot how many outs there were, easily getting doubled off of first base to end the ballgame.       Erick Fedde pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven strong innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander punched out three batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Carson Kelly on a 2-1 sweeper in the second inning. He settled in beautifully after that and retired the final 14 batters that he faced in the contest, but the White Sox were unable to provide the requisite support. Fedde got 12 whiffs on 92 pitches on the night — six on his sinker — while registering a CSW of 25 percent.
