    • Will play through hand injury
Contreras admitted after Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks that his left hand "doesn't feel good" but is "nothing that will keep me away from the game," Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Contreras missed four games earlier this month with an injury that was suffered back on April 3. He homered in his first plate appearance for the Cardinals' lone run Tuesday before eventually exiting after the fifth inning in the blowout loss. Manager Oliver Marmol said the lopsided score was the bigger reason for Contreras' departure, and the catcher seems adamant that he will continue to play through the injury. Contreras is slashing .326/.426/.500 in 13 games since getting hurt, so while it's clear he's not 100 percent, it does not appear to be affecting his offensive performance. • Goes yard in blowout loss
Contreras went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 14-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Contreras provided a positive start for the Cardinals with his first-inning blast, but it quickly went off the rails for the home team after that. The catcher saw his 11-game hitting streak end Monday, but he's still been one of the Cardinals' most consistent bats so far. He's slashing .292/.418/.523 with three homers, eight RBI, 10 runs scored, six doubles and a stolen base over 19 contests. Manager Oliver Marmol has committed to getting both Contreras and Ivan Herrera regular at-bats, so they have often shared catcher and designated hitter in recent weeks. • Puts tally in home run column
Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Rangers.

Advice: After launching 60 combined homers in his first two MLB seasons, Rodriguez was homerless through 22 games in 2024 before tagging Dane Dunning for a two-run shot Tuesday. Despite his lack of long balls, Rodriguez has been a strong fantasy producer, having racked up five multi-hit games and four stolen bases in his last seven appearances. • Says healthy despite velocity drop
Lopez allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings Tuesday in a 6-5 win over the White Sox. He struck out six in a no-decision. He said after the game he was a physically fine despite a noticeable drop in his fastball velocity during the game, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Lopez's final pitch in the fourth inning was 91.9 mph, his slowest four-seam fastball while a member of the Twins, according to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com. Lopez didn't allow any runs in the first three innings but struggled in the fourth inning by allowing a three-run home run. It was a disappointing performance considering he was facing a struggling offense. However, it sounds like his worrisome velocity drop may not indicate a bigger problem. • Marmol: Willson Contreras ‘fine’ after early exit
Willson Contreras was lifted from Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks for precautionary reasons due to left hand discomfort.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters following Tuesday’s lopsided defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks that Contreras is fine and that the club merely didn’t want to take any chances in a one-sided contest after he felt some discomfort in his bruised left hand. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm
    • Falls to Cincinnati
Sanchez (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Reds, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Sanchez struggled with command Tuesday, but the Phillies defense certainly didn't do him any favors, committing three errors behind the left-hander in the eventual 8-1 loss. It's a disappointing effort from Sanchez after he was dominant in his last outing versus Colorado, allowing one run while striking out 10 in a win. He now sports a 2.96 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB through five outings (24.1 innings) this season. Sanchez is currently slated for a road matchup with the Angles on Monday in his next start. • Pablo López avoids loss in dicey outing vs. CWS
Pablo López allowed four hits and three earned runs over four innings in the Twins’ win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: López fell victim to a three-run homer courtesy of Eloy Jiménez in the fourth inning, which proved to be his lone blemish in an up-and-down outing. The veteran righty struggled to keep runners off the basepaths in this one, allowing six baserunners in this one. He’s now allowed seven or more baserunners in three of his last four outings and has seen his ERA rise to 4.39 on the young season. López will look to get back on track in his next outing, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Angels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:35 pm

    • Solid again despite loss
Houck (3-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After twirling a complete-game shutout in his last start against Cleveland, Houck picked up where he left off, blanking the Guardians through six innings. However, he'd allow the first three batters to reach safely in the seventh, as Houck would ultimately be charged with two runs and the loss. Still, it's been an excellent start to the campaign for the 27-year-old Houck -- he has a sparkling 1.65 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB through his first five starts (32.2 innings). Houck's currently lined up for a two-start week -- he's slated to face the Cubs at home Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 pm
    • Michael Harris doubles, drives in run vs. Marlins
Michael Harris went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI in the Braves’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Harris doubled in the second inning to score Marcell Ozuna from second, giving the Braves an early lead. That run would have proven to be more than enough in the shutout win, but a home run by Adam Duvall in the sixth added some insurance going into the later innings. Harris has now hit safely in six of his last seven games and continues to be one of the hottest bats in Atlanta’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:30 pm
