    • Cardinals say Arenado has right elbow contusion
The Cardinals said Nolan Arenado has a right elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch Wednesday.

Advice: That doesn’t mean much at this point, since he’s still undergoing tests. It certainly didn’t look good when it happened. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:05 pm

    • Leaves following HBP on elbow
Arenado was removed from Wednesday's game in Miami after being hit by a pitch on the right elbow, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. He went 2-for-3 with his first stolen base of the season and a run scored prior to exiting the game.

Advice: A Huascar Brazoban offering in the top of the eighth inning caught Arenado, who went down in a heap. He looked to be in considerable pain and eventually exited the field with a trainer. The Cardinals should have more on his condition shortly. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:54 am

    • Nolan Arenado exits after taking pitch off right elbow
Nolan Arenado left Wednesday’s game against the Marlins after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch.

Advice: Arenado was still in a whole lot of pain and not moving his arm as he was helped off. José Fermín replaced him in the contest. If Arenado goes on the IL, Fermín would stand to benefit, but the Cardinals could also give Brandon Donovan more infield time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:49 am

    • Three doubles in win
Bleday went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Bleday is on a tear, going 14-for-27 (.519) with five extra-base hits over his last seven games. The outfielder's surge has him up to a .261/.342/.478 slash line on the year. He's added 10 home runs, 27 RBI, 32 runs scored, 22 doubles and three triples over 75 contests, but he's yet to steal a base. Bleday has matched or exceeded nearly all of his counting stats from 82 games last year as he continues to enjoy a breakout campaign. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:03 pm

    • Stuck with first blown save
Suarez (4-1) took a blown save and the loss in a 4-3 defeat to the Phillies on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in one-third of an inning.

Advice: Suarez coaxed a flyout from Trea Turner for the final out in the eighth inning before the right-hander surrendered four straight hits in the ninth, ultimately allowing two runs to take his first loss and blown save this season. Suarez had allowed just one run in his previous 27 innings coming into Tuesday. He still sports a stellar 1.21 ERA across 29.2 innings this year with a 0.81 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB while logging 17 saves. • JJ Bleday doubles three times in Oakland’s win
JJ Bleday doubled three times and drove in two runs Tuesday in leading the A’s to a 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: All three doubles were on long flyballs that left his bat between 102 and 103 mph and traveled from 349 to 373 feet. Bleday is now tied for third in the majors with 22 doubles. Some of his other stats are a perfect match for his 2023 totals; he currently has 10 homers and 27 RBI in 302 plate appearances after finishing with 10 homers and 27 RBI in 303 plate appearances last year. However, since he’s picked it up when it comes to singles and doubles, he’s currently sporting an .820 OPS that’s far better than last year’s. .665 mark. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:56 pm

    • No-decision vs. Philly
King didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: King had to contend with traffic for most of his outing Tuesday, though he'd manage to hold the Phillies to one run before departing in the fifth. The 29-year-old right-hander has pitched well of late, posting a 1.71 ERA with 34 strikeouts over his last five outings (26.2 innings). Overall, King is 5-4 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 101:37 K: BB across 87.2 innings this season. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Brewers this weekend in his next start. • Robert Suárez suffers blown save
Robert Suárez blew a save on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in 1/3 innings against the Phillies.

Advice: Suárez was called on to protect a one-run lead, but he allowed three straight singles to Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, and Bryson Stott to tie the game. Nick Castellanos then hit a ground rule double to seal the win for the Phillies. It was just Suárez’s first blown save of the season, and he still carries a 1.21 ERA on the season. There’s nothing to be worried about here. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:47 pm

    • Michael King struggles with command on Tuesday
Michael King allowed one run on six hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: The right-hander struck out six but also walked three on the day and needed 100 pitches to get through his 4 2/3 innings. He did induce 12 whiffs on 47 swings for a 27 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW but he also had just a 44 percent zone rate on the night. King has been missing plenty of bats in his first season as a full-time starter, but the consistency hasn’t quite been there. Still, fantasy mangers are not upset about a 3.49 ERA and he remains a solid start this weekend against the Brewers. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:40 pm
