• Freddy Peralta fans seven over six scoreless
Freddy Peralta struck out seven over six scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Friday in a no-decision.

Advice: Another impressive outing for Peralta. The 27-year-old didn’t have his best control with just 56-of-100 pitches going for strikes, but he also walked just two while scattering four hits. This is the first scoreless affair for the right-hander in 2024, but he has allowed no more than a run in three-of-four starts while improving his K/BB to 33/4 and lowering his ERA to 1.90. That’ll work. Peralta is back on the bump against the Pirates next week. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Kyle Gibson allows just one run against Brewers
Kyle Gibson allowed just one run over six innings with three strikeouts against the Brewers on Saturday, but didn’t factor into the decision.

Advice: Gibson gave up three hits, but he did walk four with 49-of-89 pitches credited as strikes. Despite the self-inflicted damage, the only run was a William Contreras double in the third inning to score Blake Perkins. Outside of that, Gibson worked around those free passes in his best start of 2024 — at least in terms of run prevention. The 36-year-old is scheduled to face the D-Backs on Wednesday; a team he allowed four runs against in his start Saturday. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Stumbles against Tigers
Ryan allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during the loss to Detroit.

Advice: Ryan coughed up three runs in the first three innings Friday as he produced his worst start of the year. The 27-year-old has given up 10 runs (eight earned) over his last three appearances, driving his ERA up to 3.57 through 22.2 frames. He forced 12 whiffs on 93 pitches, all coming on the fastball and sweeper. Still searching for his first win, Ryan is lined up for a home matchup with the White Sox next week. • Triston McKenzie goes five in win over A’s
Triston McKenzie worked five innings and allowed one run Friday as the Guardians bested the A’s 10-2.

Advice: McKenzie’s stuff is diminished, but it was still good enough to hold this A’s lineup to three hits and strike out six. It seems unlikely that he’ll fare as well next time out against the Red Sox, but at least he’s due to miss the series in Atlanta starting next weekend. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Joe Boyle lit up for seven runs by Guardians
Joe Boyle gave up seven runs and walked four in six innings Friday in loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Boyle wasn’t hit particularly hard, surrendering just two extra-base hits, but he gave up enough contact in addition to the four walks to make this a rough night. He dropped to 1-3 with a 7.23 ERA as he prepares to take on the Yankees in the Bronx next time out. It’ll probably take a better showing to keep him in Oakland’s rotation. • Jack Flaherty strikes out 10 in no-decision Friday
Jack Flaherty was terrific in a no-decision against the Twins on Friday night, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits across six strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander piled up 10 strikeouts on the night while issuing just one free pass. He served up a two-out, two-run homer to Trevor Larnach in the opening inning, which accounted for all of the earned damage against him, though the Twins scratched out a pair of unearned runs to tie the game in the sixth inning. Flaherty generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on the night — nine on his knuckle curve alone — while posting an elite CSW of 39 percent. He’ll carry a 4.44 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 30/4 K/BB ratio (24 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Rays in Tampa Bay. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Joe Ryan gives up four runs in no-decision
Joe Ryan wasn’t at his best in a no-decision against the Tigers on Friday night, giving up four runs on seven hits over his 5 1/3 frames.

Advice: On the plus side, the right-hander was able to rack up six strikeouts on the night while issuing just one base on balls. The Tigers scratched out a run against him in the first inning on a wild infield single off the bat of Spencer Torkelson. They added another pair in the third on RBI singles by Wenceel Perez and Kerry Carpenter. Carpenter also tacked on an RBI single in the sixth inning. The 27-year-old right-hander generated 12 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night — seven on his fastball — while posting a strong CSW of 28 percent. Still in search of his first victory of the season, he’ll bring a strong 3.57 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 30/3 K/BB ratio (22 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s dream matchup against the White Sox. • Struggles in Philly
Crochet (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks across three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Crochet was done in by the home-run ball Friday -- he allowed a pair of three-run homers to Alec Bohm before Whit Merrifield led off the fourth with a solo shot, forcing Crochet out of the game. After an excellent start this year, the 24-year-old lefthander has now allowed 12 runs over 7.2 innings in his last two outings. Crochet's ERA is up to 5.61 despite an excellent 1.01 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across five starts (25.2 innings). He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Minnesota. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

  • Stellar vs. White Sox
Turnbull (2-0) earned the win Friday against the White Sox, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Turnbull held Chicago without a hit through six innings, eventually allowing a lone one-out single to Gavin Sheets in the seventh en route to a 7-0 Phillies victory. Turnbull has been a revelation in Philadelphia so far this season, holding opponents scoreless in three of his first four starts. The 31-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.23 with a 0.77 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across 22 innings. Turnbull is currently on track for a road matchup with the Reds in his next outing.
