    • Red Sox activate Masataka Yoshida off injured list
Red Sox activated OF Masataka Yoshida off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Yoshida ended up missing a little more than a month with his left thumb strain. The 30-year-old should see plenty of playing time in the Boston outfield now that he’s back on the roster, likely as the designated hitter. He’ll be the DH Tuesday against the Phillies and hit fifth. To make room for Yoshida on the roster, the Red Sox designated Garrett Cooper for assignment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:51 am

    • Requires more rehab time
The Rockies elected not to activate Jones (knee/back) from the 10-day injured list Monday as previously planned, as the club determined that the outfielder needs more time in the minors to find his proper swing, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Before he was placed on the IL on April 30 with a low-back strain, Jones had gotten off to a disappointing start to the season, slashing just .170/.243/.277 with a 35.9 percent strikeout rate over 103 plate appearances. After starting up a rehab assignment in mid-May, Jones played in just three games before being shut down with a left knee injury, but he was cleared to report back to Triple-A Albuquerque on June 2. Though Jones hasn't reported any issues with his back or knee since returning to action, he's still hitting just .231 with a 36.7 percent strikeout rate in his seven games during the second rehab assignment. The Rockies likely want to see Jones find some success in the minors prior to activating him, so the 26-year-old could remain with Albuquerque through at least Thursday before the Rockies return home Friday to begin a series with the Pirates. • Extends hitting streak to 16 games
Tatis went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-1 victory versus the Athletics.

Advice: Tatis belted a solo shot in the fifth inning to give San Diego a 3-1 lead and extend his personal hitting streak to 16 games. The long ball was his third in his past four contests and his fifth during the streak. Tatis is batting a superb .394 across the 16 games with nine RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base. • Verdugo has two-hit game Monday
Alex Verdugo went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: Verdugo’s RBI was his 35th of the season. He’s hitting .265 with a .753 OPS on the year. Verdugo batted fourth with Aaron Judge out of the lineup, though he regularly hits in the middle of the order. He’s been a solid but unspectacular contributor for New York this year. • Swats another homer in loss
Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a solo blast to center in the first inning and would go quiet the rest of the afternoon. The hit streak is a new career high for him and also the longest active streak in baseball. Over that span, he's hitting .410/.463/.672 with four homers, eight RBI, 11 runs and a 4:8 BB:K over 67 plate appearances. He's raised his batting average nearly 40 points since the streak began and now holds a slash line of .281/.359/.467 with a team-high 12 home runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:00 am
    • Plays second rehab game
Yoshida (thumb) was the designated hitter for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Advice: Yoshida served as Worcester's DH on back-to-back days to kick off a rehab assignment. Getting him time in the field is not as important as the plate appearances, as Yoshida is expected to be Boston's primary DH. He'll meet with the team's decision-makers Monday to evaluate his progression, per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe. The club hopes he can be activated later this week. • Yoshida (thumb) picks up hit in rehab game in AAA
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Yoshida was the designated hitter for the WooSox on Saturday, and he’s scheduled to DH again for Worcester on Sunday. Assuming those games go well, the 30-year-old is expected to rejoin the Red Sox at some point later this week. He should be in the lineup on close to an everyday basis once he’s back. • Begins rehab assignment
Yoshida (thumb) started as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab game for Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

Advice: Yoshida played the first of two rehab games as the DH for Worcester and said that he felt no pain coming out of either contest, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports. He'll serve as Worcester's DH again Sunday, and the Red Sox hope to have him back from the 10-day injured list by the end of the week. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:11 am

    • Continues to mash
Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in Friday's 10-3 win over Arizona.

Advice: Tatis set the tone for a big offensive game by the Padres with his first-inning solo homer. The long ball extended his hitting streak to 13 games, during which he has slashed .434/.474/.660 with three home runs, seven RBI, nine runs and a stolen base. Tatis leads San Diego with 11 homers on the campaign and has driven in 33 runs while slashing .282/.357/.458 and swiping seven bags overall. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:24 am
