    • Idle Saturday
Jones isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Jones has gone just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts over his last four games, and the Rockies will give him a chance to clear his head Saturday. Sam Hilliard will get the nod to start in left field instead while batting ninth. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

    • Alex Verdugo blasts two-run homer in win
Alex Verdugo went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Verdugo launched a two-run homer off Josh Winckowski in the third inning, then knocked a base hit in the fifth before scoring on a bases loaded walk as the Yankees brought seven runs in to score in the frame. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .246/.302/.401 with ten homers and 45 RBI across 364 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:14 pm

    • Gerrit Cole strikes out eight in no-decision Saturday
Gerrit Cole allowed four runs with eight strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Cole worked through two scoreless innings, including a base-loaded jam in the second that he escaped with a strikeout. A double, walk, and three base hits would bring three runs in to score for Boston in the third. Cole struck out the side in the fourth inning before Rafael Devers took him deep for a solo shot in the fifth. That would be it for Cole at 90 pitches. He struck out a season-high eight batters. Through four starts, the 33-year-old right-hander holds a 6.75 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and a 19/8 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Orioles in Baltimore on Friday. • Justin Turner back from paternity leave Saturday
Blue Jays activated 1B Justin Turner from the paternity list.

Advice: Turner is back for Saturday’s game against the Mariners following a three-game stint away from the club on paternity leave. The 39-year-old veteran slugger holds a lackluster .734 OPS with five homers and 27 RBI in 284 plate appearances over 74 games this season in his Toronto debut. Rotoworld Today, 10:57 am

    • Back from paternity leave
The Blue Jays reinstated Turner from the paternity list Saturday.

Advice: Turner won't start Saturday's game against Seattle, but he should retain his role as the Jays' primary designated hitter after spending three days away from the team for the birth of his child. The 39-year-old has slashed .250/.359/.375 on the season, though he boasts a 1.009 OPS over his last nine contests. Addison Barger was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. • Four hits in win
Arenado went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Arenado had one of his best games of the season. Even with his four hits, he remains cold in terms of run production -- he has just two RBI over his last 14 contests. For the year, he's at a .265/.317/.377 slash line with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 32 runs scored, 14 doubles and a stolen base over 81 games. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 am

    • Knocks homer in loss
Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.

Advice: Langeliers' seventh-inning, 412-foot shot to center closed the Athletics' deficit to 3-2, which would turn out to be the final score. It was the 16th homer across 75 games -- and third in the last nine -- for Langeliers, who appears very likely to surpass the career-best 22 he slugged last season if he's able to avoid any extended absences. • Unlikely to play in All-Star Game
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Tatis (quadriceps) isn't likely to be able to play in the All-Star Game, Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Tatis was voted into the Midsummer Classic as a starter in the outfield alongside teammate Jurickson Profar, but it appears the former will need to sit out the contest. This isn't a surprising development, as Tatis had previously indicated that he could remain on the injured list until after the All-Star break. Tatis' election to the All-Star Game came as a result of a strong first half of the campaign during which he's slashed .279/.354/.468 with 14 homers, 36 RBI, 50 runs and eight stolen bases over 80 contests. • Finishes off Yankees
Rafaela went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Yankees.

Advice: Rafaela put the final touch on the Yankees, as the Red Sox hit two-run home runs in the ninth and 10th innings to steal a win at Yankee Stadium. It was the 10th homer for Rafaela, whose slow start to the season is in the past. The young outfielder/shortstop is batting .348/.375/.522 with five doubles, a triple, three home runs, 16 RBI and three steals over the last 24 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:15 am
