    • Devin Williams (back) nearing mound work
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters on Saturday that Devin Williams (back) remains on track to return after the All-Star break.

Advice: Murphy also noted that the 29-year-old hurler is expected to get on a mound soon as he continues his recovery from a pair of stress fractures in his back. While Trevor Megill has been outstanding in his stead, Williams is one of the premiere closers in all of baseball and should jump right back into the Brewers’ ninth inning role as soon as he’s healthy enough to do so. • Josiah Gray (elbow) to need two more rehab starts
Nationals’ manager Dave Martinez told reporters on Saturday that Josiah Gray (elbow) will require two more minor league rehab starts before he’s ready to rejoin the team’s rotation.

Advice: Gray made a rehab start at Double-A Harrisburg on Friday where he allowed just one run over four innings of work — throwing 41 pitches (27 strikes) in the session. He’ll go five innings his next time out and then will get to around 90 pitches or six innings in his final rehab start before he’s cleared to return. The 26-year-old hurler has been shelved for nearly two months now due to a flexor strain in his elbow. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

    • Day off Saturday
Trevino is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Trevino will get a day off after he went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-1 win. Austin Wells will take over at catcher and bat eighth against Boston. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Outright optioned
Martin cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Martin was designated for assignment by Baltimore and after going unclaimed on waivers, he'll remain at Triple-A. The right-hander has struggled to a 7.45 ERA and 2.61 WHIP over 9.2 innings in eight appearances with Norfolk this season and his outright option opens a spot on the 40-man roster for the Orioles. • Orioles outright Corbin Martin to Triple-A
Orioles sent RHP Corbin Martin outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Martin was claimed off waivers last month from the Brewers and has yet to make an appearance for Baltimore. The procedural move opens up a spot on the club’s 40-man roster moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 12:43 pm

    • Idle versus left-hander
Valdez will sit Saturday versus the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

    • Sitting versus southpaw
Hamilton is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Hamilton will get a breather as Boston squares off with southpaw Carlos Rodon on the mound. The 26-year-old saw his five-game hit streak come to an end Friday, but he's still batting .308 with two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored and five stolen bases over his last nine games. Ceddanne Rafaela will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth against New York. Rotowire.com Today, 12:32 pm

Advice: Smith will take a seat as the Red Sox face left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound. Bobby Dalbec will draw the start at first base and bat eighth against New York. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 pm

    • Cut by Angels
Adrianza (back) was released by the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Adrianza has been out since early May with back spasms and he'll now have to prove his health prior to being signed by a new team down the road. In a corresponding move, the Angels selected the contract of Jose Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:24 pm
