    • Getting breather Thursday
Paredes is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Paredes will get his second day off of the season after starting in 18 of the Rays' first 19 contests. With Paredes on the bench Thursday, Curtis Mead will pick up a start at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 6:54 am

    • Blows save Wednesday
Robertson gave up a run on two hits and a walk over 1.1 innings Wednesday, getting charged with his second blown save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Tigers. He struck out one.

Advice: The veteran right-hander entered the game with one on and one out in the seventh inning to protect a 4-3 lead, and while he escaped that small jam, Robertson couldn't stop Detroit from tying things up in the bottom of the eighth. It's only the second run he's allowed this season, and the 39-year-old has been busy to begin the year, posting a 1.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through 10.2 innings. Despite those strong ratios, he's 0-for-2 in converting save chances while adding a win and six holds in his 10 appearances, while Kirby Yates seems to be strengthening his grip on the closer role for Texas. • Shohei Ohtani singles three times in shutout loss
Shohei Ohtani singled three times and also stole a base on Wednesday in the Dodgers’ shutout loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Ohtani accounted for three of Los Angeles’ five hits during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Dodger Stadium as Nationals starter Jake Irvin and three relievers combined on a shutout. It was his 10th multi-hit performance of the year already. The 29-year-old fantasy stalwart is off to a stellar start in his Dodgers debut with an astronomical .360 (31-for-86) batting average to go along with 15 runs scored, four homers, 10 RBI and four steals through 21 games. • David Robertson charged with blown save in eighth
David Robertson took a blown save after giving up a run in the eighth against the Tigers on Wednesday.

Advice: Robertson came in with a man on in the seventh and retired back-to-back batters to preserve a one-run lead then. He then got the first out of the eighth, only to give up a run on a single, a groundout that advanced the runner and another single that barely eluded Corey Seager. It went as his second blown save. He’s allowed just two runs in 10 2/3 innings, and he remains a threat for saves in the Texas pen, but it seems like manager Bruce Bochy prefers Kirby Yates right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
    • Walks off Twins
Mullins went 1-for-4 with a walk-off, two-run home run during Wednesday's 4-2 win against the Twins.

Advice: Mullins extended his hit streak to nine games and has clubbed homers in three of the past four contests. The 29-year-old has rebounded from a poor start to the season and has a .259/.308/.552 slash line with five home runs, three steals, 15 RBI and 14 runs through 17 games. • Cedric Mullins delivers walkoff homer versus Twins
Cedric Mullins hit a two-run homer off Griffin Jax in the bottom of the ninth to give the Orioles a 4-2 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: It appeared this spring that the Orioles might return Mullins to the leadoff spot against righties, but he’s back hitting sixth and seventh like he did in the second half of last season and doing awfully well with it; his .259/.308/.552 line is sort of perfect for an old-school No. 6 hitter. He has five homers and 15 RBI through 18 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:20 pm
    • Xander Bogaerts goes 0-for-4 in loss to Brewers
Xander Bogaerts went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Wednesday, dropping his season average to .200.

Advice: Bogaerts went 6-for-14 with four RBI in the Padres’ first three games this season. He’s 10-for-67 with three RBI in 17 games since. The Padres are going to need more from him soon, and they’ll probably get it. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:52 pm
    • Striking out at prolific rate
Siri went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Siri stated that he wanted to be more aggressive on the basepaths this season, and he began the year by swiping six bags across his first nine games. However, that production has slowed considerably since, as he has attempted only one stolen base in his last nine contests while striking out 48.5 percent of the time. For the season, Siri has a 40.5 percent strikeout rate, which could create playing-time concerns once Josh Lowe (oblique) and Jonny DeLuca (hand) return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 am

    • Stays hot at plate
Hoerner went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a run batted in during Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hoerner put up his fourth career four-hit game Tuesday and after scoring twice, he ranks second on the Cubs in runs scored in 2024 (12). Over his last eight games, Hoerner is 11-for-27 (.407) and boasts an impressive .403 on-base percentage for the season, though he still does not have a stolen base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 am
