    • Underwhelming rehab appearance
Buehler (elbow) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three across 2.2 innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Buehler was expected to throw between 80 and 90 pitches, though his struggles with control limited the length of his outing. He particularly struggled with his offspeed and breaking pitches, as he threw 15 combined curveballs and sliders -- only two of which went for strikes. Though the outing wasn't positive, it could come as some consolation that this was Buehler's first time pitching with an automated strike zone, per Oklahoma City Director of Communications Alex Freedman. It's possible that this was Buehler's final rehab outing before rejoining the big-league rotation, but the Dodgers are expected to assess the situation before making a final decision. • Walker Buehler struggles Thursday in rehab start
Walker Buehler (elbow) surrendered two runs over 2 2/3 innings on Thursday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Buehler needed 26 pitches to get through the opening frame and didn’t make it out of the third inning of this one, departing after just 68 pitches. He struck out three and also issued four walks. The big concern here is that he wasn’t able to sufficiently build up his pitch count and might wind up needing another rehab outing before finally returning to Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix. There should be a decision regarding his next step at some point in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:06 pm

    • Picks up first steal of 2024
Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 22-year-old doesn't run much, but he's never been caught stealing in the majors, going 3-for-3 in 143 MLB games. Alvarez is struggling to get going at the plate this year, slashing .241/.293/.370 through 15 games with a homer, a steal, seven runs and eight RBI, but he remains locked in as the Mets' near-everyday catcher. • Gets rest day
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: He'll receive a breather for the day game after drawing starts at catcher both of the past two days. Matt Thaiss will check in behind the plate and will form a battery with starting pitcher Griffin Canning. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 am
    • Dominant in win
Miller (3-1) earned the win over the Reds on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk over six innings while striking out seven.

Advice: Miller was dominant Wednesday, doing much of the work with his four-seamer as he held the Reds to just one hit over six frames. The only run he allowed was a solo homer off the bat of Elly De La Cruz, the first home run he's given up over his last three starts. Miller has dazzled on the mound since taking the loss in his first start of the season and now holds a 0.47 ERA in April to go along with an 18:5 K:BB. Furthermore, the right-hander has now gone at least six innings in three consecutive starts, allowing no more than three hits in each of those outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:34 am
    • Cranks third home run
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Bellinger is off to a bit of a slow start, with just a .200 batting average, a .667 OPS and three home runs across 18 games. However, he is now riding a modest four-game hitting streak, and perhaps Wednesday's long ball will give him another boost of momentum. Bellinger batted .307 with an .881 OPS and 26 home runs a season ago, so the upside is certainly there. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:15 pm

    • Bryce Miller dominates in victory over Reds
Bryce Miller delivered a masterful performance in Wednesday’s victory over the Reds, allowing one run on only one hit over six stellar innings of work.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander punched out seven batters on the afternoon while issuing only one base on balls. The only hit that he allowed came on a solo home run off the bat of Elly De La Cruz in the second inning, aside from that Miller was incredible. He got six swings and misses on 91 pitches on the impressive day, posting a solid CSW of 30 percent. Miller has been outstanding through his first four starts on the season, registering a 1.85 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and a 24/7 K/BB ratio over 24 1/3 innings. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he squares off against the Rangers in Arlington on Wednesday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:30 pm
    • Cody Bellinger goes deep in victory over D’Backs
Cody Bellinger blasted a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning on Wednesday, powering the Cubs to a 5-3 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 28-year-old slugger broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning when he crushed a 396-foot (104.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Diamondbacks’ starter Brandon Pfaadt. He also singled in the eighth inning and came around to score on a run-scoring knock off the bat of Michael Busch. Bellinger finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .200/.296/.371 with three long balls and 12 RBI on the season. He’s still looking for his first stolen base though, after nabbing 20 bags during the 2023 season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:37 pm

    • Held out with back tightness
Hayes (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Hayes was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 3-1 loss due to lower-back tightness, so it's not a surprise he's not ready to play in the series finale Wednesday. He missed about a month of action last season with the same injury and still has to manage back issues on occasion. At this point, he's considered day-to-day. Jared Triolo will start at third base Wednesday in place of Hayes. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:47 am
