    • Saturday start being discussed
Gallen (hamstring) could start Saturday against Oakland if Thursday's bullpen session goes well, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: Thursday's bullpen session will the second one thrown by Gallen, who also has a couple of simulated games under his belt during rehab. The right-hander hasn't thrown in game conditions since May 30, when he threw just six pitches before being removed. Rotowire.com Today, 5:36 am

    • Plates three in win
Neto went 2-for-4 with a three-RBI double and a run scored during Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Neto participated in four of the Angels' five runs Wednesday, highlighted by a go-ahead three-run double in the sixth inning off Austin Adams. The outing marked Neto's first three-RBI game of 2024 and was his second time in three games generating multiple hits. On the year, Neto is slashing .256/.307/.439 with 10 homers and 10 stolen bases over 284 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:03 pm
    • Remains hot Wednesday
Mullins went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 4-2 victory versus the Guardians on Wednesday.

Advice: Mullins broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning with a solo shot to right field. The outfielder finished with his fifth multi-hit effort over his past seven contests, a span in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs. Mullins was hitting .170 at the end of the day June 8 but has ridden a recent hot streak to bring that mark up to a more respectable .214. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:13 pm

    • Grabs 28th save
Helsley allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in a 4-1 win over Atlanta in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Helsley allowed two runs in Monday's game versus Atlanta, but he was able to keep his save streak going. The right-hander has converted his last 28 save attempts after blowing his first chance of the year. He's now at a 2.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 36 innings. Helsley has allowed six hits and issued 10 walks over 11 innings in June, but he's been scored on in just two of his 11 appearances this month, so his place as the Cardinals' closer is not in doubt. • Ryan Helsley locks down 28th save Wednesday
Ryan Helsley tossed a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save in the second game of a doubleheader against the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: Helsley was summoned to close it out in the ninth with a three-run lead against the Braves. He recorded the first out, then allowed two runners on with a single and a walk. A groundout put both runners in scoring position and brought the tying run to the plate with two outs. He Helsley struck out the final batter to end the game with his MLB-leading 28th save. • Zach Neto with two hits, drives in three runs
Zach Neto went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and three RBI in the Angels’ 5-1 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Neto’s three-run double in the sixth inning put the Angels ahead after being stifled all afternoon by Joey Estes. He’s had a sneaky solid season, with 10 homers, 10 steals, and 18 doubles. Hopefully Ron Washington decides to move him up in the batting order soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:51 pm
    • Brent Rooker doubles in loss
Brent Rooker went 2-for-4 with a double on Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: The Athletics keep losing, but Rooker keeps hitting. The double was his 32nd extra-base hit of the season and his OPS has climbed up to .845, 20th in the league among qualified players. Rooker could be in for a monster second-half if the A’s decide to trade him before the deadline. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:50 pm

    • Another rehab start Thursday
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Kremer (tricep) will make another rehab start Thursday at Triple-A Norfolk, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Kremer struggled in his second rehab outing this past Saturday with Norfolk, allowing five runs while recording just two outs. He got his pitch count to 59 in his first rehab start but was pulled from the second outing after throwing just 39 pitches due to a stressful first inning. It's possible Kremer will be ready to return from the 15-day injured list next week, though that decision depends on how he looks Thursday and how much he can get stretched out. The righty has been out since late May with a right triceps strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:51 pm

    • Zach Neto dropped to eighth in Angels lineup
Zach Neto has been dropped to eighth in the Angels lineup Wednesday against the A’s.

Advice: Neto has been the Angels’ best player since the end of April, but good luck convincing manager Ron Washington of that. Neto had mostly hit sixth of late. He’s batting .274/.326/.500 since Apr. 29, and he leads the Angels with four homers and 14 RBI in June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:25 am
