    • Mitch Keller escapes with win over Reds
Mitch Keller allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Keller struck out six and walked three on the day; however, he got just eight whiffs on 48 swings for a 17 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. Keller’s command was good in this one, which led to 22 called strikes and helped him get through without the most dynamic stuff. He’ll look for a smoother ride against the Cardinals next time out. • Fans 11 in victory
Ragans (5-5) earned the win over Miami on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 batters over six innings.

Advice: Ragans racked up 27 swings-and-misses -- the most by any pitcher in baseball this season -- en route to his first win since May 22. Despite the five-game stretch of starts without a victory, the southpaw has been pitching well, as he posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB during the drought. Ragans' 11 punchouts Monday were his second-most this season, and he ranks third in MLB with 120 strikeouts on the campaign. He is also tied for third in the majors with 12 quality starts. • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Paul Skenes strong for seven against Rays
Paul Skenes was uninvolved in the decision Sunday after allowing one run in seven innings and striking out eight against the Rays.

Advice: The homer off the bat of Yandy Díaz led off the game. The Rays had no further luck, though, at least not until Skenes left the game to begin the eighth. It’s the first time in eight big-league starts that Skenes has gotten through seven. He still hasn’t taken a loss, and his ERA stands at 2.14. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:14 pm

    • Tosses career-high seven innings
Skenes did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over seven innings against the Rays. He struck out eight.

Advice: Skenes got off to a bit of a rough start, allowing two extra-base hits on his first four pitches, including a leadoff homer to Yandy Diaz on the first pitch of the game, but Skenes did not allow another run for the rest of his outing. The first overall pick in the 2023 Draft continues to dominate even as his workload increases, as he struck out eight over a career-high seven innings. He's now allowed just two earned runs and has struck out 23 over his last three starts spanning 19.1 innings. He also continues to display impressive control, having not walked more than one batter during any game since walking two in his first career start May 11. Skenes is currently scheduled to take the hill next weekend when the Pirates make the trek to Atlanta for a three-game set. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:46 pm

    • Falters against Yankees
Morton (4-4) allowed five runs on five hits and five walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings to take the loss versus the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Morton matched his season high with the five walks, something he has done three times this year. He's also given up five or more runs in three of his last five outings. The 40-year-old has done a good job of eating innings, but the results have been mediocre -- he's at a 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 80:35 K:BB over 79.1 innings through 14 starts. Morton is projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox in a makeup game for a rainout from April 3. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:53 pm

    • Charlie Morton gives up five runs in loss to Yanks
Charlie Morton struggled in a losing effort against the Yankees on Saturday night, giving up five runs on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 40-year-old hurler also issued five free passes on the night while striking out four opposing batters. Morton served up a two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening inning, then the Yankees scratched out single runs in the third and fourth innings before chasing Morton while scoring a run in the sixth. Morton generated 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — nine of them on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back and improve upon his 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and an 80/35 K/BB ratio (79 1/3 innings) when he squares off against the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday. • Completes seven innings in loss
Fedde (5-2) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Fedde allowed a two-run home run to Carson Kelly but was otherwise excellent, retiring the final 14 batters he faced. Despite the loss, this was Fedde's third consecutive quality start, and he has now yielded fewer than three earned runs in 12 of 16 outings this year. The right-hander owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB over 94.1 innings in what has to this point been the best season of his MLB career. He lines up to face the Dodgers next week. • Erick Fedde pitches well in loss to Tigers Friday
Erick Fedde pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander punched out three batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Carson Kelly on a 2-1 sweeper in the second inning. He settled in beautifully after that and retired the final 14 batters that he faced in the contest, but the White Sox were unable to provide the requisite support. Fedde got 12 whiffs on 92 pitches on the night — six on his sinker — while registering a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll carry a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 86/24 K/BB ratio (94 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Friday, 5:56 pm
