    • Kyle Bradish solid across five innings
      Kyle Bradish allowed two earned runs via solo homers in five innings on Friday in a loss to the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one.

      Advice: Bradish hadn’t given up a home run all season before Friday, but the Phillies put two in the seats for their only two runs. Still, Bradish was mostly in control with a heavy diet of sinkers to supplement his excellent slider and curveball. He left the game with 74 pitches one inning shy of qualifying for a quality start.     • Dealing with elbow problems
      Bradish reported having issues with his right elbow after the fifth inning of Friday's game against the Phillies, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

      Advice: Manager Brandon Hyde said after the game that Bradish will undergo tests on his elbow to determine the cause of the issue. The 27-year-old missed the first month of the season after suffering a UCL sprain during spring training, so it makes sense that the Orioles would be cautious with him.       Keller (8-4) was charged with the loss after he allowed four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts over six innings Thursday against the Cardinals.

      Advice: Keller's four earned runs allowed tied a season high, but he still managed to extend a streak of seven straight starts of at least six innings. He gave up a homers to Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan, making it the first time this season he's allowed multiple long balls in a game.       Mitch Keller lost to the Cardinals after giving up four runs in six innings Thursday.

      Advice: Keller had gone five straight starts without allowing a homer and hadn’t yielded more than one in any outing this season, but both Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan left the yard against him today.       Advice: Buehler gave up a three-run home run to Corey Seager in the fifth inning, and that ended up being the difference in this game. This was the sixth time in seven outings that Buehler has allowed at least three runs. He's likely still working on getting into a groove after an extended absence following his August 2022 Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB over 33 innings so far. He'll have a tough task in his next start, which is projected to be at Colorado.       Walker Buehler allowed three runs -- two earned -- with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Buehler had worked through four scoreless innings against the Rangers before serving up a three-run homer to Corey Seager to put Texas on top. Buehler scattered seven hits and one walk, striking out two batters. The 29-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 29/9 K/BB ratio across 33 innings.       Skenes didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing five hits and no walks across 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Skenes was locked into a pitchers' duel with Miles Mikolas, as the first run of the game didn't come across until the ninth inning, leaving both starters with no-decisions. Individually, Skenes was excellent once again, punching out seven or more batters for the fifth time in six starts while issuing no walks for the first time all year. Through 33.1 innings, Skenes has struck out 46 batters and owns a 2.43 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He'll make his first trip to Coors Field on Sunday to face off against the Rockies.       Paul Skenes recorded eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in a win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Skenes left the game with the ballgame knotted in a scoreless stalemate after scattering five hits over six-plus frames. The rookie phenom did everything he could to position himself for a win, allowing just one extra-base hit while not surrendering a walk. He ran into a slight bit of trouble in the fifth inning, giving up back-to-back singles to kick off the frame. However, with Nolan Arenado on third and no outs, Skenes would strike out the next two batters he faced before getting Michael Siani to ground out to end the inning. Skenes lowered his ERA to 2.43 on the season and will have a chance to earn his next win on Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:21 pm

    • Erick Fedde excels for seven before pen implodes
      Erick Fedde surrendered one run in seven-plus innings Monday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: It would have been seven scoreless innings for Fedde had he been pulled then, but Pedro Grifol thought he was the best choice to start the eighth. Grifol then quickly changed his mind after a leadoff homer. Fedde was pulled from a 4-1 game at that point, only to sit and watch as the White Sox bullpen blew the game.
