    • David Bednar works perfect frame for 16th save
David Bednar hurled a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Reds to record his 16th save of the season.

Advice: Bednar got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and needed just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to set down the heart of Cincinnati’s lineup. He got Elly De La Cruz to pop up and Spencer Steer to fly out before coaxing a game-ending fly out from Jake Fraley to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty has recorded saves on back-to-back days against the Reds after suffering a blown save last Friday against the Rockies in his previous appearance. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
    • Remains out Wednesday
Friedl (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: He'll take a seat for the second day in a row while he recovers from a tight hamstring, which he sustained while making a diving catch in the fifth inning of Monday's 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh. The Reds seem to be viewing Friedl as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list could become more realistic if he isn't ready to play coming out of Thursday's off day. Friedl's absence Wednesday will open up a spot in the outfield for Stuart Fairchild. Rotowire.com Today, 7:31 am
    • Breaks out of slump
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.

Advice: Lowe has been slow to reacclimate at the plate following his IL stint in late May, entering Tuesday's game 2-for-24 with 12 strikeouts since being activated June 5. However, he showed signs of life against the Twins, launching his third home run of the season and generating his third multi-hit game in 24 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 am

    • Hit hard by Rays
Lopez didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Tampa Bay, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk across four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Four of the five runs attributed to Lopez came via the long ball, with Randy Arozarena launching a three-run homer in the first inning and Brandon Lowe notching a solo home run in the fifth, marking Lopez's seventh consecutive start allowing a round-tripper. The 28-year-old has allowed five or more runs in four of his last six appearances, owning an 8.94 ERA during that stretch and ballooning his ERA to a career-worst 5.63 overall. He's lined up for a road start against the Athletics on Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:23 am

    • Perfect for save No. 13
Jansen earned the save Tuesday against Toronto, striking out one batter during a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Jansen has now converted on nine straight save chances and hasn't allowed a hit or walk across his last 2.2 innings of action. He's picked up a save in four straight appearances and is tied for the fifth most saves in the American League. Overall, Jansen owns a 2.70 ERA and a 30:11 K:BB across 23.1 innings. • Pablo López hit hard on Tuesday in no-decision
Pablo López was crushed for five runs over four innings on Tuesday in a no-decision the Rays.

Advice: The ball was flying on Tuesday night at Target Field as López was tagged for seven hits, including a pair of homers, before a lengthy rain delay brought his outing to a close. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The surface results haven’t been inspiring this season, but he still holds a strong 3.47 xFIP, which seems to indicate that he’s been extremely unlucky. He’ll aim to rebound this weekend with a tasty road tilt on Sunday against the Athletics out in Oakland. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 am

    • Imaging comes back negative
Judge said Tuesday that X-rays and CT scans on his left hand came back negative, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Judge had to leave Tuesday's game against Baltimore after taking a fastball off his hand, but he now appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 32-year-old slugger also said he aims to return without missing any games, though he is dealing with a bit of swelling which could sideline him for a day or two, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. • X-rays, CT scan negative on Aaron Judge’s hand
Aaron Judge told reporters late Tuesday that X-rays and a CT scan on his left hand came back negative for any structural damage.

Advice: Excellent news. It’s an extremely positive update from Judge, who added that it’s possible he won’t wind up missing any time at all. The 32-year-old superstar was sent for additional imaging and further evaluation at a local hospital after being hit on the left hand by a 95-mph fastball during Tuesday’s game against the Orioles, but it sounds like he’s managed to avoid serious injury. It’s a massive relief for the Yankees, and fantasy managers as well. He’s day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • Jansen picks up 13th save in win over Blue Jays
Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Jansen has now picked up saves in back-to-back days and has recorded four saves in the month of June. The hard-throwing righty has allowed one run in his last 6 1/3 innings pitched while striking out eight batters to just one walk. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm
