      Paul Sewald suffered his first blown save of the season on Tuesday night, allowing two runs on three hits over 2/3 innings against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The 34-year-old stopper was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning. He started off the inning by striking out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, but things got interesting as Will Smith smacked a two-out double on the first pitch that he saw, putting the tying run in scoring position. Freddie Freeman then fell behind 0-2 before lining a game-tying RBI double into right field. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a walk-off RBI single that ended it. Even with this setback, Sewald still holds a terrific 1.56 ERA and 0.63 WHIP over 17 1/3 innings on the season while converting 11 of his first 12 save opportunities.       Grayson Rodriguez was exceptional in Tuesday night’s victory over the Mariners, racking up eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball.

      Advice: The 24-year-old budding superstar scattered just two hits and four walks on the evening. Only once did the Mariners advance a runner past second base on Rodriguez in this one, and that came with two outs in the sixth inning before Rodriguez punched out Cal Raleigh to end the threat. He generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 32 percent. Now 10-3 on the season, Rodriguez will carry a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 97/29 K/BB ratio (88 2/3 innings) into battle against the Athletics in Oakland on Sunday. It was also his third scoreless outing of the year. Rodriguez is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB through 88.2 innings over 15 starts. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Cubs for his next appearance if the Orioles go to a six-man rotation, though he could move up to pitch on regular rest at Oakland on Sunday if Baltimore elects to work with five starters.
