    • Diamondbacks option Gavin Hollowell to Triple-A
Diamondbacks optioned RHP Gavin Hollowell to Triple-A Reno.

Advice: The 26-year-old hurler spent just one day with the big-league club, but he’ll be sent back out to make room for Cristian Mena who will start on Wednesday evening against the Dodgers. Hollowell will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Diamondbacks at Triple-A Reno. Rotoworld Today, 2:44 pm
    • On bench vs. lefty
Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Wade has gone 3-for-13 with a double and a solo homer in three games since returning from the injured list, but he will take a seat for Wednesday's contest as southpaw Chris Sale starts for Atlanta. David Villar will man first base and bat sixth for the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 2:42 pm

    • Diamondbacks recall Cristian Mena from Triple-A
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Cristian Mena from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: The 21-year-old right-hander will be thrown right into the fire, making his big-league debut on Wednesday night against the Dodgers. Mena registered a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and an 89/38 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings in 16 starts at Triple-A Reno. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes. • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime. • Out through All-Star break
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung will be shut down until next week to allow his right wrist to rest, and the third baseman will not return until after the All-Star break, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Jung had his swing test Saturday cancelled due to soreness in his right wrist. While a specialist confirmed that there is no structural damage, the lingering pain has kept Jung from swinging a bat since June 20. The hope for Jung is that the extended rest will allow the pain in his wrist to subside long enough to resume swinging a bat before ramping up through a rehab assignment. The 26-year-old appeared in just four games at the beginning of the season before sustaining a fractured right wrist due to being hit by a pitch in early April. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm

    • Recalled by Toronto
The Blue Jays recalled Berroa from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Berroa will move up to the Jays' 26-man roster with Justin Turner placed on the paternity list Wednesday. In his four minor-league outings since being optioned down to Buffalo on June 25, Berroa has gone 4-for-13 with five runs, three walks, one home run and five RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 2:20 pm

    • Cody Bradford (back) resumes throwing off mound
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Cody Bradford (back) has resumed throwing off of a mound.

Advice: Bochy also noted that when Bradford is ready to return that he’ll be utilized as a reliever instead of a starter. That’s because with the return of Max Scherzer and with Jacob deGrom and Tyler Mahle working their way back, the rotation outlook looks very muddled. From a fantasy perspective, it’s hard to envision Bradford making much of an impact upon his return if he’s not pitching out of the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

    • Corey Seager (hand) out of Rangers initial lineup
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the Rangers’ initial starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy did say that he’ll talk to Seager before the game though and that there’s a chance he could still be added to the lineup. Either way, that bodes well for his status going forward as he seems very close to a return. Expect him back in action on Thursday if he doesn’t talk his way into Wednesday’s lineup.
