      Perales (elbow) underwent a full UCL reconstruction surgery last week, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

      Advice: As anticipated, Perales required a traditional Tommy John surgery to repair the damage ligament in his right elbow rather than an internal brace procedure. As a result, Perales is unlikely to be ready to pitch late in the 2025 season, whereas an internal brace procedure would have resulted in a shorter timeline that could have put him in line to pitch at some point after the All-Star break in 2025.       Vasquez (forearm) has been cleared to make his next start Friday versus the Diamondbacks in San Diego, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

      Advice: In his most recent start in Friday's 9-2 win over the Mets, Vasquez took a no-decision after he was lifted after 59 pitches and four innings when he was struck in the right forearm by a comebacker. Follow-up X-rays cleared Vasquez of any structural damage to his forearm, and he's been cleared to make his next start after he played catch Sunday without incident. Since returning from Triple-A El Paso on June 1 and rejoining the big-league rotation, Vasquez has gone 2-1 with a 4.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB in 30 innings spanning six starts.       Brubaker (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred from the Florida Complex League to Double-A Somerset on Sunday. He pitched three shutout innings for Somerset, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three batters.

      Advice: This was Brubaker's third outing of his rehab assignment -- he previously pitched one game for Single-A Tampa and one game for the FCL Yankees. The right-hander looked good Sunday, throwing 30 of 47 pitches for strikes and yielding just one hit (a double). Brubaker appears to be building up his workload to take on a starting role, and he'll likely need a few more rehab outings before he's ready to be activated off the injured list.       Kelly (shoulder) recently increased his throwing distance off flat ground to 120 feet, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

      Advice: Though Kelly is steadily upping his throwing distance, the Diamondbacks haven't yet indicated when the right-hander might be ready to resume mound work. In any case, Kelly recently acknowledged that he's not expecting to come off the 60-day injured list until mid-to-late August, so he still has several weeks to go and multiple checkpoints to hit in his rehab program before a more precise target date for his return is identified.       The Diamondbacks are moving up Zac Gallen’s next start to Thursday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The Arizona Diamondbacks want to get Gallen pitching on every fifth day until the All-Star break, which means he will now face the Dodgers instead of the Padres on Friday as was originally planned. Instead, Slade Cecconi will be moved back to take that start. It’s obviously not great news for fantasy leagues, but the Dodgers have some injuries in their lineup, and Gallen is talented enough that you’re probably starting him regardless of opponent.       Chirinos came away with a no-decision in Sunday's loss to the Phillies, giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.1 innings while striking out four.

      Advice: The damage against the right-hander could have been worse considering all the traffic he put on the basepaths, but it was still a shaky effort from Chirinos. He's made three starts for the Marlins and has at least pitched into the fifth inning in each outing, helping to take a little pressure off the team's overtaxed bullpen. Chirinos sports a 3.77 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB through 14.1 innings for Miami, and he lines up to make his next trip to the mound at home this weekend against the White Sox.       According to The Athletic’s Will Sammon Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tylor Megill will “continue to make starts in Triple A.”

      Advice: Mets was sent down to the minors on Sunday after posting a 5.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and a 49/19 K/BB ratio across 39 innings over his eight starts. There has been some discussion that he would profile better as a reliever but it seems that, for now, the Mets plan to keep working him as a starter in the hopes he can help their rotation later in the season.       Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake said Carlos Rodón is working to adjust his approach as team’s key on hitting his fastball.

      Advice: Speaking to The Athletic, Matt Blake said he doesn’t have long-term concerns with Rodón despite the left-hander allowing 20 earned runs and a 1.253 OPS in his last three outings. “I think it’s being ready to adapt your plan early because it’s clear that teams that can hit the fastball are targeting him early,” Blake said. “There are more guys like him who throw the ball hard with good profiles and... there’s just less room for error with that stuff. Even if that’s how you got paid, that’s not necessarily your map for success down the road.
