    • Ready for rehab outings
Ross (back) will make a rehab start with High-A Wisconsin on Saturday.

Advice: Ross has been sidelined since May 20 and has been ruled out through the All-Star break. It's unclear how many pitches he'll throw in his first rehab appearance, though it's a clear step forward and an indication he has the chance to rejoin the rotation at some point in July. • Morton allows three earned runs in loss Thursday
Charlie Morton allowed four runs (three earned) in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Morton gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five. He had won two of his last three starts. Morton gave up a two-run home run to Heliot Ramos and a solo home run to Matt Chapman in the third inning. In the sixth inning, Chapman got him again for an RBI double. Morton has a 3.96 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 91 innings this season. The 40-year-old right-hander is set to face the Diamondbacks on the road next week.

    • Webb allows two runs in win over Braves Thursday
Logan Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his seventh of the year. Webb gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies in the first inning and Albies later scored on an Austin Riley sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Braves. Then he held Atlanta scoreless for the next six innings. Webb has gone seven innings and allowed two runs in four of his last six starts. He’s been one of the most consistent pitchers in fantasy this year and has a 3.09 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Suffers ugly loss Thursday
Maeda (2-5) allowed nine runs on nine hits across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Twins. He walked three and struck out three.

Advice: It was another ugly performance for Maeda, who saw his season ERA climb to 6.71. Outside of a clean first inning, the veteran allowed multiple runs to score in each of his other frames. Maeda had a decent 2023 campaign for these same Twins, posting a 4.23 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 104.1 innings, but he hasn't carried that over into his first season in Detroit. The righty lines up to start again Tuesday against the Guardians, though at this point he can't be trusted by fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:19 pm
    • Bobby Miller no longer starting Sunday vs. Brewers
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Bobby Miller will not start on Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Roberts elaborated that Miller is healthy, but the Dodgers want to give him some extra time instead of taking the ball on just four days of rest after allowing two runs over five innings on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. It’ll be a bullpen game for Los Angeles instead. Miller will presumably take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm

    • Won't start on regular rest
Miller will not start Sunday against Milwaukee, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Miller would have been on regular rest Sunday, but the Dodgers will opt to give him at least two extra days to recover. He's struggled in three starts since returning from the injured list, posting a combined 7:9 K:BB with a 6.75 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:01 pm

    • JP Sears flummoxes Angels over five frames in win
JP Sears recorded six strikeouts over five shutout innings on Thursday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Sears wasn’t overpowering, but he managed to limit Los Angeles’ lifeless offense to just a pair of hits and one walk over five frames. The 28-year-old lefty has allowed just three runs over 11 innings in his last two starts after surrendering eight runs over 1 1/3 innings against the Twins back on June 22. He’ll take the ball on Wednesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park to close out the first half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:21 pm

    • Roansy Contreras struggles Thursday in loss to A’s
Roansy Contreras was charged with three runs (two earned) over 2 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Contreras walked three batters, struck out one and was lifted after just 53 pitches (29 strikes) in an abbreviated outing. The 24-year-old righty figures to continue drawing starts for Los Angeles, but he’s going to need to be more efficient if he’s going to stick as a traditional starter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:21 pm
    • Goes six innings in no-decision
Burnes allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Advice: Burnes, who welcomed twins over the weekend, was strong in his return to the mound. He threw 62 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he gave up both runs in the fifth inning, including one on a solo home run by Julio Rodriguez. Burnes has posted a quality start in all but one of his last 13 outings, though this was just the second time in his last seven starts that he didn't come away with a win. He has an excellent 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB through 112.2 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs and should be set to pitch on a regular schedule with the Orioles electing for a five-man rotation moving forward.
