    • Andrew Heaney fans 10 in defeating Orioles
Andrew Heaney pitched seven innings of two-run ball and struck out 10 Sunday in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: It’s just Heaney’s second win versus nine losses in 16 starts (he does have one more win from his lone relief appearance). We wouldn’t trust Heaney to finish the year in the rotation of a Rangers team that’s still hoping to get Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom back from the injured list, but he has a solid enough 4.06 ERA at the moment, and he’s a decent play with a home start against the Rays up next. • Cole Irvin tagged for five runs by Rangers
Cole Irvin lasted just 3 2/3 innings and gave up five runs in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Irvin seemed safe from being threatened by Dean Kramer’s return, but with three poor outings in a row taking his ERA from 3.03 to 4.17, a demotion to the pen is realistic. Albert Suárez and Cade Povich are the other two candidates to be bumped from the rotation. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Derek Hill hits two homers in victory over Orioles
Derek Hill launched a pair of homers against the Orioles in Sunday’s rout.

Advice: Hill has started four of five games since returning to the majors Wednesday and gone 5-for-14 with three homers. That’s just one fewer homer than he had in 289 career major league at-bats coming into last week. It’s unlikely that he’ll make much of an impact in shallow leagues going forward, but since he can steal bases and has a clear path to playing time in the Texas outfield, he could help in deeper formats. • Ryan O’Hearn goes 3-for-4, knocks in run
Starting against a lefty for the first time all season, Ryan O’Hearn went 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: We’re still not sure why O’Hearn played and Ryan Mountcastle sat tonight, but O’Hearn came through nicely, picking up all three of his hits against lefties. He had been 2-for-15 versus southpaws this season. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Gunnar Henderson strikes out four times
Gunnar Henderson lost his 36-game on-base streak by striking out all four times up against the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: All four strikeouts came against Andrew Heaney. It’s his first golden sombrero since Oct. 1, 2022. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Designated for assignment
Barnhart was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Sunday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Barnhart will now be placed on waivers and the other 29 teams in the league will have an opportunity to claim him. The catcher has produced a .173 average with two doubles, six RBI, 13 runs scored and a stolen base over 81 at-bats in 31 games with Arizona this season. With Barnhart's disappointing output at the plate this year, he'll be the odd man out with Gabriel Moreno (thumb) expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Jose Herrera will operate as the primary backup behind Moreno at catcher with the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Allows two homers
Corbin (1-8) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings against the Rays. He struck out five.

Advice: Corbin got bitten by the home run bug in the second, giving up two blasts that allowed three runs to cross the plate. Otherwise, a fourth inning sac fly was the only other damage to his line. It was the first time in four games Corbin had allowed a long ball and he's had 10 games this season in which he's not allowed a ball to leave the yard. However, over the other seven instances, including Sunday, he's allowed multiple homers on five occasions. Corbin currently carries a season ERA of 5.49 but even including this start, his ERA has been a solid 3.47 over his last four starts spanning 23.1 innings. Corbin's next outing is slated to take place at home next weekend when the Cardinals visit the nation's capital to take on the Nationals. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
    • Diamondbacks to DFA Tucker Barnhart
The Diamondbacks have decided to move on from Tucker Barnhart with Gabriel Moreno coming off the IL on Tuesday.

Advice: Barnhart will be DFA’d, with Jose Herrera sticking around as Moreno’s backup. The 33-year-old has hit just .173/.287/.210 this season, though it’s not like that should have surprised the Diamondbacks; he came in at .215/.286/.264 the previous two years. • Henry Davis (concussion) sees rehab stint paused
Henry Davis is having his rehab stint put on hold as he attempts to return from a concussion.

Advice: Davis was 0-for-6 with five strikeouts since joining Double-A Altoona on Wednesday. Expectations are that he’ll be optioned to Triple-A once healthy. Rotoworld Today, 6:21 pm
