    • Logs second steal
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Cronenworth notched his first multi-hit effort since June 21 and his first steal since May 6 with a strong performance Wednesday. The infielder hit .250 with eight extra-base hits and 15 RBI over 27 contests in June. For the year, he's at a .260/.325/.437 slash line, 12 home runs, two steals, 53 RBI and 45 runs scored across 85 games. He's played fairly well, but he may slip out of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns from the injured list later in July. Bogaerts had played primarily at second base prior to his injury, though Cronenworth or Luis Arraez could ultimately share first base and designated hitter to keep both of their bats in the lineup. • Two thefts in win
Kim went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Kim has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) in that span. His pair of steals Wednesday were his first since June 20, and he's up to 18 thefts on 21 attempts this season. The infielder has added a .227/.335/.383 slash line with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 46 runs scored, 10 doubles and three triples through 88 contests. One of Kim, Luis Arraez, Jake Cronenworth or Donovan Solano is likely to lose hold of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns, which could be in about a week if he can get through a rehab assignment without setbacks. • Swipes bag Wednesday
Merrifield went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Merrifield has two steals over his last six contests, but he's gone just 4-for-23 at the plate over his last 11 games. The infielder has recorded 20-plus steals five times in his first eight major-league campaigns, but his smaller role and lackluster ability to get on base in 2024 has put a damper on his speed contributions. He's slashing .190/.277/.282 with eight steals, three home runs, 10 RBI and 19 runs scored over 160 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Today, 9:37 pm

    • Luis Rengifo exits game with hand injury Wednesday
Luis Rengifo was removed from Wednesday night’s battle against the Athletics in the ninth inning due to an apparent hand injury.

Advice: Rengifo appeared to injure his hand while swinging the bat on a foul ball in the ninth inning. Whatever the issue is, it was substantial enough to pull him from the game in the middle of an at-bat. The Angels should have an update on Rengifo’s status prior to Thursday’s series finale. • Max Scheumann slugs solo homer Wednesday
Max Schuemann went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk against the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Schuemann gave the A’s a three-run lead with a solo homer off Davis Daniel in the fifth inning, his only hit of the game. He later drew a walk. The 27-year-old shortstop is slashing .230/.321/.333 with four homers, 27 runs scored, and six steals across 214 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 9:03 pm

    • Exits with injury
Rengifo was removed from Wednesday's game versus Oakland due to an apparent injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Rengifo's hand/wrist seemed to be bothering him after he fouled off a pitch in the ninth inning, and he was immediately replaced at the plate following the incident. The specifics of his injury remain unknown, but the Angels will presumably take him in for imaging and should offer more information ahead of Thursday's game. Rotowire.com Today, 8:58 pm

    • Isaac Paredes clobbers first inning homer
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks on Wednesday against the Royals.

Advice: Paredes started this game by smashing a changeup from Michael Wacha beyond the left field fence. Shockingly he pulled yet another home run right next to the left field foul pole. The long ball was a welcome sight as these past few weeks have felt like his longest cold streak since breaking out with the Rays two years ago. Rotoworld Today, 8:14 pm

    • Luis García Jr. smacks two home runs in win
Luis García Jr. went 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored, and a walk in the Nationals’ 7-5 win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: This was and second multi-homer game in García’s and each one was mightily important to the Nationals’ victory. His first was a moonshot off a hanging Christian Scott sweeper that cut the Mets’ lead from 5-1 to 5-4 and his next provided a valuable insurance run in the eighth inning. The two home runs pushed García to nine on the season, already tying his career-best mark set last season. Rotoworld Today, 6:36 pm

    • Blue Jays place Justin Turner on paternity list
Blue Jays placed INF Justin Turner on the paternity list.

Advice: The 39-year-old slugger will be away from the team for at least a couple of days as he welcomes a new addition to his family. Steward Berroa was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take his place on the Jays’ active roster. Rotoworld Today, 3:48 pm
