      Advice: The right-hander needed only 10 pitches (eight strikes) to dispatch Baltimore's 6-7-8 hitters in the ninth, and Garcia got rewarded when Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the frame. Garcia has recorded a win (one), save (one) or hold (five) in seven of 10 appearances over the last month, posting a 2.53 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB in 10.2 innings during that stretch.       Advice: Isiah Kiner-Falefa delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning to hand Kimbrel his first loss since April 28. This also ended Kimbrel's scoreless streak at 7.2 innings, though he hasn't given up an earned run since May 8.       Estrada went 3-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Estrada missed three games with a jammed thumb to begin June, but he's been strong at the plate on both sides of that minor injury. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.282/.417 slash line with eight home runs, one stolen base, 32 RBI and 33 runs scored over 59 contests this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign.       Cease (5-5) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Angels.

      Advice: Cease took his third loss in five outings. He was done in by the long ball again, as Nolan Schanuel took him deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning and Zach Neto added a two-run blast in the second. Cease has surrendered six homers during his five-start winless stretch. The right-hander is now at a 3.51 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 93:22 K:BB over 77 innings across 13 starts this season. He's not having a bad year by any means -- his 2.6 BB/9 is the best of his career. Cease will look to snap his skid in his next start, tentatively projected to be at home versus the Athletics.       Gilbert (3-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out five without walking a batter over seven innings, but he took the loss Wednesday versus the Athletics.

      Advice: Gilbert can be partly to blame for this loss, as his throwing error on a pickoff attempt put Daz Cameron in position to score on a passed ball in the fifth inning. The Mariners' lack of offense was the other problem, which led to Gilbert taking his fourth loss in his last six outings. He's turned in a quality start in four of those games despite the lack of wins. The right-hander is at a 3.12 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 76:20 K:BB through 83.2 innings over 13 starts this season.       Advice: Rodon was staked to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back, keeping alive a perfect game until Carlos Santana homered with one out in the sixth frame. The left-handed hurler picked up his sixth consecutive win, and he's notched a quality start in each of those victories. Rodon also dominated with 18 swinging strikes Wednesday en route to a season-high nine punchouts. He's bounced back from a disastrous first year in New York last season to post a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 71:20 K:BB through 73 innings during the current campaign.       Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves.       Advice: All three runs off Cease came via the home run. Nolan Schanuel got the scoring started with a solo blast to lead off the first inning. Zach Neto followed with a two-run shot in the second. Cease settled in to toss four more scoreless frames while striking out six.
