• Brewers recall Andruw Monasterio from Triple-A
Brewers recalled INF Andrew Monasterio from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: With Jake Bauers landing on the bereavement list on Friday, the Brewers needed some extra depth on their bench for the weekend, so Monasterio will rejoin the Brewers after being optioned out to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday. Monasterio is 0-for-7 with a pair of runs scored in his limited action with the Brewers this season. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

  • Gets another start
Cannon will start Monday in Minnesota, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Cannon had a solid major-league debut Wednesday against the Royals, tossing five innings of one-run ball. It has earned him at least one additional start in the majors, although that could be it since Mike Clevinger is due to join the White Sox before long. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago
  • Shut down for two more weeks
Gonzales (forearm) will remain shut down for the next couple weeks, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gonzales has been sidelined since last week with a left forearm muscle strain. He is not expected to require surgery, but between shut down for multiple weeks and then a build-up period, it sounds like it will be several weeks before he'll be an option for the Pirates again. • Rangers option Jack Leiter back to Triple-A
Rangers optioned RHP Jack Leiter to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: The 23-year-old hurler made his highly-anticipated MLB debut against the Tigers on Thursday, giving up seven runs over 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision. Even with the rough first outing, it shouldn’t take Leiter long to get another look in the big league rotation. Owen White was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move to add depth to the Rangers’ bullpen for the weekend. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago
  • Undergoes knee surgery
Delay recently underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Delay is expected to be ready to resume baseball activities in six weeks and it figures to be several weeks after that before he might be ready to return to the Pirates. Pittsburgh is currently using Henry Davis and Joey Bart as its catching duo, but Yasmani Grandal (foot) recently began a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Rangers promote Owen White from Triple-A
Rangers recalled RHP Owen White from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: The Rangers needed a fresh arm to provide innings out of the bullpen over the weekend and White was one of the few healthy options remaining on their 40-man roster. He can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes. Jack Leiter was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Hit in loss
Lopez went 1-for-2 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City on Wednesday.

Advice: It's been a difficult start to the season for the 29-year-old, as Lopez's slash line sits at .167/.255/.167. While he does have two hits over the last five games, the infielder has yet to tally an extra-base hit and he's been a liability on the base paths during the rare occasion that he's gotten on base, having been thrown out four times this season. The six-year veteran signed a one-year, $4.3 million contract with the White Sox this offseason, but given the team's dreary record, it wouldn't be surprising to see Lopez get ample opportunities to find his way out of this rut. • RBI double in win
Flores went 1-for-1 with a RBI double in the 5-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Flores entered in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and immediately smacked a two-run double, which accounted for only his third extra-base hit of the new campaign. While the veteran has been on the short side of the platoon with LaMonte Wade at first base, the Giants have found a way to get Flores' bat in the lineup situationally throughout most of the season. The 32-year-old has yet to tally a home run in the 2024 campaign, but given his slugging percentage (.311) is woefully below his career norms, the power could be returning in short order. • Will make another rehab start
Walker (shoulder) will make one more rehab start with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday before rejoining the Phillies' rotation, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Phillies had considered having Walker's next appearance be with the big club, but they've ultimately opted to give him one more tune-up. It sets Walker up for his season debut next weekend in San Diego. Spencer Turnbull has pitched well as Walker's rotation substitute but could lose his spot once Walker returns.
