      Advice: Fairbanks worked around a two-out single to pick up his sixth save. It was his third save since May 11, when he made his return from a stint on the IL. Over the three weeks since his return, he's appeared in 10 games and has yet to allow an earned run while allowing nine baserunners and striking out nine over 10 innings.     • Nico Hoerner has two hits in loss to Reds
      Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with.     • Nursing ankle issue
      Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Abreu twisted his right ankle in the dugout during Sunday's loss to the Tigers and is receiving treatment, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

      Advice: The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 with a run scored before he suffered the injury and was replaced by a pinch hitter during the ninth inning.       Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that the swelling in Suarez's hand has improved significantly, and the left-hander could pick up a ball in the next day or two, Matt Gelb of The Athleticreports.

      Advice: The 28-year-old was struck in the left hand by a comebacker during Saturday's start against the Cardinals, but he's had X-rays come back negative and already appears to be progressing in his recovery. It remains to be seen if Suarez will be cleared for his next turn through the rotation, but he's certainly trending in the right direction. The Phillies also have three scheduled days off surrounding next weekend's two-game series versus the Mets in London, so the club could give Suarez some extra time between outings without needing an additional starter.       Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder slipped down the dugout steps late in the game and appeared to roll his ankle. He stayed in the game though, until he was pinch-hit for against left-hander Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning.       Pete Fairbanks worked a scoreless ninth and earned a save Sunday against the Orioles.

      Ranger Suárez (thumb) reported feeling much improved on Sunday and there’s optimism from the team that he’ll be able to make his next scheduled start.

      Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw was lifted from Saturday’s start after he was hit on his pitching hand by a comebacker, but the swelling went way down overnight and he’s feeling much better already. Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson said they’ll wait a day or two before he attempts to throw, but it sounds like he’ll be able to take the hill as planned against the Mets in London next weekend.       Raisel Iglesias pitched a clean ninth inning on Sunday against the Athletics to earn the save.

      Advice: That's consecutive two-hit games for Greene, who has his batting average up to .244. While that's a dip from the .288 figure he recorded last season, he's sitting with an identical .796 OPS so far thanks to an early power surge. Greene has blasted 10 home runs across 57 games after going deep only 11 times in 99 games last year.
