Kimbrel earned a save against the Rangers on Friday, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.
Advice: Kimbrel was called upon to protect a 2-1 lead in the ninth inning and did so with two strikeouts and a groundout. The veteran has rebounded from a blown save June 19 with two straight scoreless conversions. On the season, he is 18-for-22 in save chances with a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 44:12 K:BB over 29.1 innings. Rotowire.com4 minutes ago
Marcus Stroman allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings on Friday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three, walked three in a no-decision.
Advice: Stroman labored through two very long innings against the Blue Jays. He could not put them away despite not allowing much hard contact and many long-at bats drove his pitch count up. Stroman’s strikeouts have sunk this year while he’s allowing more walks showing diminished velocity overall. His 3.29 ERA may be a bit of a mirage. Rotoworld32 minutes ago
Ronel Blano was pulled after 5 2/3 innings after allowing six runs, three earned, on Friday against the Mets. He struck out five and walked three in a loss.
Advice: Blanco pitched fine Friday. His three unearned runs came as a result of an Alex Bregman two-out error that allowed Jeff McNeil to sneak a ball just over the right field fence in the next at-bat. That was the Mets’ third home run of the game as Tyrone Taylor and Pete Alonso also left the yard. He still missed plenty of bats with 12 whiffs on the day and would have earned his fourth straight quality start if Bregman had fielded that ground ball cleanly. Rotoworld48 minutes ago
Craig Kimbrel struck out two Rangers in a clean ninth innings to earn the save for Baltimore on Friday.
Advice: Kimbrel has been nails of late. He’s converted 11 of his last 12 save chances and allowed just one earned run since May 10th. He’s been one of the best and most surprising closers in baseball this season. RotoworldToday, 6:44 pm
Correa (wrist) is playing shortstop and batting second Friday against Seattle.
Advice: Correa was removed from Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch, but he won't require a day off due to the bruised right wrist. He went 4-for-9 with four runs and two RBI during the Twins' three-game series against Arizona. Rotowire.comToday, 2:10 pm
Carlos Correa (wrist) returned to the Twins’ starting lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Mariners.
Advice: The 29-year-old shortstop was drilled in the right wrist by a fastball during Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks. Correa told reporters afterwards that he was fine though and that he planned to play on Friday, and true to his word he’s in the lineup and batting second against Logan Gilbert and the M’s on Friday evening in Seattle. On the season, Correa is slashing a healthy .309/.380/.494 to go along with eight homers and 38 RBI in 267 plate appearances. RotoworldToday, 2:08 pm
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hand) was held out of the Marlins’ starting lineup on Friday after being hit by a pitch on Thursday.
Advice: X-rays came back negative for any fractures, but the 26-year-old outfielder was still a bit sore on Friday so the decision was made to hold him out of action. Chisholm will be available off the Marlins’ bench on Friday and is expected to return to the starting lineup on Saturday. RotoworldToday, 1:41 pm
Heim is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Baltimore.
Advice: Heim will get a break after starting the last four games for the Rangers, during which he went 6-for-14 with a solo home run. Andrew Knizner will take over catching duties and bat eighth. Rotowire.comToday, 1:20 pm
Chisholm is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
Advice: Chisholm had made seven consecutive starts, so Friday's absence can be chalked up to a rest day for the center fielder. Bryan De La Cruz, Vidal Brujan and Dane Myers fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.comToday, 12:26 pm
