After attempting only one steal through May 12, he has three steals on four chances in his last 19 contests. Despite some surprising aggressiveness on the basepaths, Blackmon has disappointed with the bat by maintaining just a .127 ISO and .697 OPS in 209 plate appearances.     Pillar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Astros.

    Advice: Pillar had gone 1-for-10 over his first four games in June before this multi-hit effort. His second-inning homer was all the Angels could put up against Framber Valdez, who pitched a complete game. Pillar is up to seven homers, 26 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .324/.379/.590 slash line over 117 plate appearances between the Angels and the White Sox this season. Despite his strong numbers recently, he's been on the bench for two of the last five games, which suggests Pillar doesn't have a full-time role against right-handed pitchers. The 25-year-old has shown some pop with a .407 slugging mark, but his .148 average and .179 on-base mark answer any questions about whether he’s worthy of fantasy consideration.     MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

    Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests.
