    • Reynaldo López holds A’s to one run in victory
      Reynaldo López limited the A’s to one run in six innings and struck out eight in Atlanta’s 4-2 victory Friday.

      Advice: Another quality start moves him to 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA. That López has had a very light schedule has played some role in his success to date. His 10 starts have seen him face none of the league’s top five offenses by OPS yet each of the bottom four (the Mariners, Pirates, Marlins and White Sox). He’s certainly been good and he might continue to be until he starts to run out of gas, but he’s had it awfully easy thus far. Rotoworld Friday, 7:25 pm
       
    • Raisel Iglesias earns 14th save against A’s
      Raisel Iglesias picked up his 14th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the A’s.

      Advice: Zack Gelof doubled to start the inning and came around to score on a pair of groundouts. Fortunately, Iglesias was working with a three-run lead, so this one was never really in doubt. He’s 14-for-16 saving games this season. Rotoworld Friday, 7:25 pm
       
    • Continues surge Thursday
      Toro went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Rays on Thursday.

      Advice: Toro wreaked havoc during the 12-inning contest, putting together his third multi-hit effort in the last four games. The 27-year-old also ripped a two-bagger for the second straight game, and his clutch RBI single in the 10th snapped a 4-4 tie at the time. Toro has found a home in the leadoff spot, logging a .277 batting average, 11 extra-base hits, three steals and 19 runs in 156 plate appearances from the top of the order.       Gilbert (3-3) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

      Advice: Gilbert began his outing with three scoreless frames, but homers by Alex Bregman and Victor Caratini plated three runs for the Astros across the fourth and fifth innings. Gilbert still had a chance to extend his three-game quality-start streak, but that was extinguished when he gave up another run in the sixth.       Cole (elbow) could make his first rehab start Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Cole threw live batting practice Thursday, and his next step will likely be a lengthy rehab assignment.       Miller was charged with a blown save in Thursday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay in 12 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over two innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Jose Siri's game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth was the first given up by Miller this year while also resulting in his first blown save in 12 chances. Despite Thursday's hiccup, it's been an excellent start to the season for the 26-year-old Miller -- his ERA now sits at 2.08 with a 0.88 WHIP and 51 strikeouts, the most among qualified relief pitchers, through 26 innings.     • Logan Gilbert serves up two homers in loss to Astros
      Logan Gilbert allowed four runs over six innings on Thursday in a loss to the Astros.

      Advice: Gilbert was burned by the long ball in this one as homers by Alex Bregman and Victor Caratini in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, accounted for nearly all of the damage against him. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk. It was just the third time in 12 starts this season that he’s surrendered four earned runs or more.       Mason Miller blew the save against the Rays on Thursday.



      Advice: Miller entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead and allowed a solo home run to Jose Siri. It was his first blown save of the season. Miller had basically been untouchable all season as he converted his first 11 saves. His ERA is now 2.08 on the year. Miller remains one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball and would likely remain in a closing role if traded to a contender later this year.
