    • Sean Murphy batting eighth against Arizona
Sean Murphy has been dropped to eighth in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: It seems like batting Murphy sixth and Adam Duvall eighth against a righty would make more sense, but Duvall is in the sixth spot today. Murphy started over Travis d’Arnaud about two-thirds of the time in June, but they’ve strictly alternated starts in the Braves’ last six games. He still has a nice ceiling, but these manueverings make Murphy a pretty weak option in one-catcher mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 3:17 pm

    • Could start batting practice soon
Trout (knee) jogged on the field and hit some soft toss Monday, and the 32-year-old outfielder said he should progress to batting practice in a few days, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Trout continues to work his way back from surgery on the torn meniscus in his left knee in early May. It took him until late June to return to baseball activities, but he has been ramping up his workouts and is close to taking the next step in his rehab program. Trout is aiming to return from the injured list by the end of July, but he'll likely need a rehab assignment before returning to major-league action. Prior to his injury, Trout was slashing .220/.325/.541 with 10 home runs and 14 RBI over 126 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:09 pm

    • Brandon Nimmo hits 14th homer in loss
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-4 and hit his 14th homer to drive in both Mets runs Monday in a loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Francisco Lindor is having the best season of anyone snubbed from the All-Star roster, but that was at least somewhat understandable, given the strength at shortstop in the NL. Nimmo actually seems like the worst snub of all, given how good he’s been and how weak the NL outfield is as a whole. Plus, he’s been a borderline All-Star for several years now and has still never gotten to go to the game. Perhaps that will change as players start to drop out. Rotoworld Today, 1:19 pm
    • Goes yard in loss
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: he New York outfielder accounted for the only Mets runs of the game, hitting a 428-foot, two-run homer off Mitch Keller in the sixth inning. The nine-year veteran has tapped into his power recently, as he entered slugging .671 with 12 extra base hits -- six homers and doubles apiece -- in 90 plate appearances over his previous 20 games. After missing a game July 1 due to a forehead laceration, Nimmo has batted .320 (8-for-25) with three extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored in seven games this month. • Allows rare run
Clase earned a save over the Giants on Sunday. He gave up a run on one hit in one inning of work.

Advice: Clase coughed up an out-of-character run on a Michael Conforto groundout. Clase was still able to close out the 5-4 win and pick up his 27th save of the year. He's given up just four earned runs through 42.1 innings this season, resulting in a 0.85 ERA. Sunday's outing snapped a nine-inning scoreless streak. Clase has converted 14 straight save chances and is 27 for 30 in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:43 pm
    • Cruises to sixth win
Eovaldi (6-3) earned the win Sunday over the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five without walking a batter over seven innings.

Advice: Eovaldi limited the damage to a two-run home run by Jose Caballero in the third inning, and the Rangers generated plenty of offense to counter that. This is the third start in a row in which Eovaldi has completed seven innings, though it was a small step back from his one-hit outing versus the Padres last Tuesday. The right-hander has a 3.10 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 85:26 K:BB across 87 innings through 15 starts this season. He's projected for a road start in Houston his next time out. • Nathan Eovaldi shines in win over Rays
Nathan Eovaldi allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Rays on Sunday while striking out five and walking none.

Advice: Eovaldi induced 16 whiffs on 49 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW on the day. His splitter and curve missed tons of bats on the day, and he pounded the zone with his fastball to lower his ERA to 3.10 on the season. He has a tough start lined up against the Astros next week, but we know Kyle Tucker will not be back for that one, which makes it a little less intimidating. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:29 pm

    • Emmanuel Clase earns 27th save
Emmanuel Clase allowed one run on one hit but secured the save in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Sunday.

Advice: Clase allowed a one-out double to Matt Chapman before Chapman advanced to third on a catcher’s interference and then scored on a groundout. Overall, it was a good appearance for Clase, who now has 27 saves to go along with a 0.85 ERA on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:53 pm
    • Picks up seventh win
Lopez (7-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing no runs on two hits and three walks over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.

Advice: Lopez dominated once again with his sixth start of the season with five or more innings and zero runs allowed, tying him with Tarik Skubal for the most such appearances in MLB. Lopez lowered his ERA to an MLB-leading 1.71 in the process. It's tied for the fifth-lowest by an Atlanta player in his first 16 starts of a season since 1912 and the lowest since Tom Glavine in 2002. The 30-year-old is already up to 89.2 innings this season, which is his most since 2019, so his workload will be something to monitor in the second half of the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:19 pm
