Griffin Canning turns in first quality start in loss
Griffith Canning took a tough loss after allowing two runs in six innings Sunday against the Guardians.
Advice: It’s his first quality start of the year. Canning had a shutout going into the sixth, when he allowed a single and then a homer to José Ramírez. He allowed only two other hits in the game, both of which were singles, and walked one. Canning now has a 4.64 ERA in his last four starts. That’s still not great or even very good, but it’s a whole lot better than his 9.88 mark from his first three outings.
