      Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas (ribs) will begin swinging a bat this week, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

      Advice: Casas underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is apparently ready to take the next step. He had been lightly swinging a bat but never graduated to swinging with full force.       Estevez picked up the save Tuesday against Oakland, allowing one hit with two strikeouts across a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Estevez's streak of eight consecutive perfect innings came to an end Tuesday. However, he converted on his ninth straight save attempt and hasn't allowed an earned run since May 20th.       Advice: Ward launched a homer for the second consecutive night, tagging Sean Newcomb for a solo shot in the seventh inning.       Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Santander's up to 12 homers over 24 contests in June. The power surge is impressive, though he's losing a little consistency at the plate by going just 2-for-15 over the last four games. That quiet stretch has taken some of the wind out of his sails as he looks to get his season-long numbers at a respectable level.       Advice: Kwan has let his bat do the talking since he returned from a hamstring injury, going 33-for-75 (.440) over his last 19 contests. Predictably, he hasn't tried his luck much on the bases, going 1-for-2 in stolen base attempts in that span. He's now at a .385/.443/.563 slash line with seven home runs, 24 RBI, 48 runs scored and four steals over 51 contests, and it's safe to assume his speed will remain down given his history of hamstring issues.       Advice: Suarez has converted his last three save chances after a blown save June 18 versus the Phillies. He's now at 20 saves on the year, and he's the fifth pitcher in the majors to reach that milestone in 2024. Of those top-tier closers, Suarez's 1.09 ERA is second only to Cleveland's Emmanuel Clase (0.70). Suarez has also maintained a 0.79 WHIP and 30:6 K:BB over 33 innings this season.
