      Advice: This was Phillips' first appearance in nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He looked rust-free, throwing 11 pitches (seven strikes) to set down the bottom of the Rockies' order for his ninth save of the season. Phillips has a 0.61 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, and he's yet to take a blown save this year. It doesn't appear he'll be eased into the closer role again, not that he needs to be handled with kid gloves considering his track record in high-leverage spots over the last two years.       Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-5 with an RBI against the Cubs on Saturday.

      Advice: It was a relatively quiet night for the Reds offense. Despite scoring five runs, four of them were unearned thanks to an error by Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki. Candelario chipped in later with an RBI single. After hitting .189 in April, he hit .247 with three home runs in 24 games in May.       Alonso went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 10-5 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

      Advice: Alonso doubled in the first then hit a two-run home run in the ninth off Brandon Hughes. While the game was out of reach, the homer was Alonso's 13th of the year and resulted in his third multi-hit effort in his past nine games.       Julio Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI against the Angels on Saturday.

      Advice: Rodriguez started the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and added another RBI single in the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead 7-0. He’s now up to .273 with 23 RBI on the season. Rodriguez hasn’t lived up to his first round draft status so far this season because his power has nosedived.
