    • Start moved to Thursday
      Manager Craig Counsell said that Imanaga will make his next start in Thursday's series finale in San Francisco, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: Imanaga had previously been in line to start Wednesday, but he'll get an extra day to rest up after he was lit up for 10 earned runs in just three innings during his most recent outing Friday against the Mets. Despite his awful performance Friday, the 30-year-old southpaw has still been strong overall with a 2.96 ERA and 1.10 WHIP alongside an 81:12 K:BB through 79 innings over 14 starts.       Houck allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out seven during the win against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Houck gave up just one run through six frames before the Blue Jays put two more runs on his final line during their five-run seventh inning. He's produced six quality starts in his last seven outings, giving him 13 through 16 total starts. Houck owns a terrific 2.18 ERA with a 101:18 K:BB through 103.1 frames.     • Houck allows two earned runs in no-decision Monday
      Tanner Houck allowed three runs (two earned) in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Red Sox’ 7-6 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.



      Advice: Houck gave up five hits, walked one and struck out seven. Boston only scored two runs while he was in the game before coming back to win late. Houck’s ERA is now 2.18 on the year and his 101 strikeouts on the season rank inside the top 15 in all of baseball. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home this weekend.

    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) shut down for a week
      The Dodgers are shutting down Clayton Kershaw for a week to address the soreness in his shoulder.

      Advice: An MRI detected nothing new in Kershaw’s surgically repaired shoulder. If the soreness clears up quickly, he still might rejoin the Dodgers not long after the break.       Yu Darvish is dealing with elbow inflammation will not return to the Padres rotation on Tuesday.

    • Dealing with elbow inflammation
      Padres manager Mike Shildt said Monday that Darvish (groin) won't be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday versus the Nationals due to "a little" right elbow inflammation, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Darvish had been slated to return from close to a month-long absence with a groin injury, but it's an elbow issue that will delay his activation even further. Shildt's wording would seem to suggest that Darvish is dealing with a minor setback, but a return to the rotation next week isn't guaranteed, especially after Darvish missed the final month of last season with a bone spur in the elbow.     • Shut down for one week
      Kershaw will be shut down for at least one week after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder during a bullpen session over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Kershaw underwent an MRI, which didn't reveal any new damage to the shoulder, so the hope is that this is just a minor setback. He had been slated for his second rehab start Tuesday, but that will be delayed indefinitely.     • Yu Darvish may not return this week
      According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Tribune, Yu Darvish (groin) did not throw his scheduled pre-start bullpen session, “and his status is up in the air.”

      Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt said, “We’re going to see what it looks like and have something for you [Monday].” The issue is apparently not related to the groin issue that has kept Darvish out since May 29th but without any information on what actually did keep Darvish from throwing, it’s impossible to say if it’s good news or bad news that it’s not related to his groin. We’ll keep locked to the news coming out of San Diego, but fantasy managers in weekly lineup lock leagues may want to err on the side of caution and keep Darvish out of starting lineups this week.     • Dominant in debut
      Scherzer (1-0) picked up the win Sunday, allowing one hit and no walks with four strikeouts across five scoreless innings against Kansas City.

      Advice: Scherzer showed no signs of rust after missing the first 12 weeks of the season recovering from offseason back surgery and battling thumb and forearm injuries, retiring the first 13 batters he faced and picking up the victory. Though he completed five innings, Scherzer was pulled after 57 pitches and should continue to have his workload monitored during his next few starts.
