• Snags seventh win
Neris (7-2) tossed a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the win in Thursday's 5-3, 10-inning victory over the Giants.

Advice: Neris went through a rough patch earlier this month but has pitched better lately, tossing scoreless innings in consecutive outings with four total strikeouts. The veteran once again didn't see a save opportunity, as that went to Porter Hodge on Thursday, but it was encouraging to see Neris still work in a high-leverage spot. He figures to remain Chicago's closer moving forward, though he could be replaced if his struggles resurface. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:23 pm
  • Tanner Scott collects 11th save on Thursday
Tanner Scott tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Phillies to notch his 11th save of the season.

Advice: Scott was summoned to protect a three-run lead against the division-rival Phillies and set down the side in order on just nine pitches (six strikes). The 29-year-old lefty has converted 11 of 13 save opportunities to accompany a 1.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 36/23 K/BB ratio across 35 innings (34 appearances). He hasn’t allowed a run in seven consecutive appearances since June 17. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:26 pm
  • Notches save Wednesday
Kimbrel earned a save against the Guardians on Wednesday, walking one batter and striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Kimbrel issued a two-out walk but otherwise overpowered Cleveland with three punchouts. The veteran closer rebounded well after blowing a save against the Yankees during his previous trip to the mound. Kimbrel is 17-for-21 in save chances on the season and has registered an elite 13.3 K/9 while posting a 2.54 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 28.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:56 pm
  • Craig Kimbrel earns 17th save
Craig Kimbrel struck out the side and walked one batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Guardians.

Advice: Kimbrel continues to drink from the fountain of youth. His 17th save snapped the Orioles’ losing streak and he has his highest strikeout rate since 2021. He is locked in as the closer in Baltimore. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:12 pm
  • Yields homer in non-save spot
Hader allowed a solo home run and a walk with three strikeouts during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Hader stepped into the game for the ninth inning despite not being eligible for the save and gave up his first home run since June 9 to Michael Toglia. After a shaky start to 2024, Hader owns a 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and eight saves over his last 19 appearances. He's also walking batters at his lowest clip since 2019, with 2.4 BB/9 in 2024. Advice: Sewald needed 17 pitches (nine strikes) to close out this contest, earning his 10th save in as many chances this year. He's on a 13.2-inning scoreless streak -- the only run he's allowed this year came in his season debut after he started the year on the injured list. Sewald has maintained a stellar 0.61 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB over 14.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:00 pm

Paul Sewald recorded his 10th save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Sewald gave up a two-out double to Byron Buxton, putting the tying run on base. Ryan Jeffers followed with a stinging liner to left, but it was hit right to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., ending the game. • Collects 10th save
Scott earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Kansas City, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing one hit.

Advice: Scott worked around a single yielded to Salvador Perez and subsequent pinch-run stolen base by Dairon Blanco to secure double-digit saves for the third consecutive season. The left-handed closer has been especially stingy since May 1, producing a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings. Scott has blown only two saves in 2024 and is firmly cemented as the closer in Miami. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:05 pm
  • Tanner Scott picks up 10th save vs. Royals
Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Scott allowed a one-out single to Salvador Perez in the ninth but went on to retire the next two batters he faced. The veteran lefty now has 10 saves on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.59 on the season. Scott has converted on 10 of his 12 save opportunities, but saves have been hard to come by for the 28-win Marlins. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:52 pm
