    • Eight RBI in last seven games
Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: Rodgers accounted for the majority of his production with a two-RBI single in the first inning. He now has at least one extra-base hit and one RBI in three straight games and has driven in eight runs across his last seven starts. Rodgers has lacked power production early this season, though he has managed a .274 batting average with 46 combined runs and RBI across 57 games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:54 am
    • Handed loss Wednesday
Kimbrel (4-2) allowed an unearned run on two hits over one-third of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Isiah Kiner-Falefa delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning to hand Kimbrel his first loss since April 28. This also ended Kimbrel's scoreless streak at 7.2 innings, though he hasn't given up an earned run since May 8. The closer has a 2.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 31:9 K:BB and 13 saves in 16 chances through 21.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:13 pm
    • Manny Machado (hip) considered day-to-day
Padres’ manager Mike Shildt told reporters after Wednesday’s loss to the Angels that Manny Machado (hip) is considered day-to-day.

Advice: The superstar third baseman suffered a mild right hip flexor strain while hustling down the first base line to beat out a double play in the fourth inning. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to require any further examination or imaging and there’s optimism that he could return to the Padres’ lineup as early as Thursday. • Plates two Wednesday
Paredes went 2-for-4 with two RBI doubles and a run during Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Paredes did his damage early, tagging Braxton Garrett for RBI doubles in the first and third innings. With the pair of doubles, Paredes extended his hit streak to seven games. During that stretch, Paredes is batting .310 with eight RBI and five runs scored. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:02 pm

    • Considered day-to-day
Manager Mike Shildt said that Machado is day-to-day with a mild right hip flexor strain after exiting in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Angels, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. He went 0-for-2 prior to leaving the game.

Advice: Machado suffered the injury while hustling to first base in an effort to beat out a potential double play in the fourth inning. Though he was able to reach base on a fielder's choice, Machado was forced from the game, with Donovan Solano coming off the bench to pinch run for him. Fortunately, Machado appears to have avoided any significant damage, but it's possible the Padres hold him out of Thursday's series opener against Arizona to aid his recovery. The 31-year-old has gone 8-for-22 with four RBI and two stolen bases across his last seven games. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:28 pm

    • Keeps winning
Skenes (3-0) picked up the win Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk across five innings with eight strikeouts.

Advice: While Skenes picked up his third victory in five career starts, he didn't make it out of Wednesday's start unscathed. Each of the three runs attributed to the rookie came off a home run, with Shohei Ohtani belting a two-run homer in the third inning before Andy Pages went yard for a solo shot in the fifth. At 22 years of age, Skenes has already established himself as an above-average MLB starter, holding a 3.00 ERA with an excellent 38:6 K:BB across 27.0 innings. He's on schedule for a road start against the Cardinals on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:05 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel takes loss to Blue Jays in ninth
Craig Kimbrel, who entered a tie game to start the bottom of the ninth, took a loss after giving up an unearned run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: The unearned run was his own fault, as he threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt. The runners to reach against him both did so on singles, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s game-winning hit to right would have been caught if Kyle Stowers wasn’t playing shallow to prevent the sac fly with one out. It’s obviously a bad result, but since Kimbrel’s pitching wasn’t really the problem tonight, it’s unlikely to throw the closer’s role in Baltimore into chaos again. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:18 pm
    • Injures leg Wednesday
Machado was removed from Wednesday's game against the Angels due to an apparent leg injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Machado suffered the injury while running to first base on an attempt to beat out a double play during the fourth inning. The slugging third baseman likely tweaked something in his lower body while running, but the Padres should clarify the nature of Machado's injury relatively soon. • Manny Machado exits with apparent leg injury
Manny Machado was lifted from Wednesday’s contest against the Angels in the fourth inning due to an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Machado suffered the injury while hustling down the first base line to beat out a double play ball in the fourth inning. He tried to talk his way into staying in the game, but wound up getting replaced by pinch-runner Donovan Solano. It doesn’t sound like it’s something that should sideline him for long, but we’ll know more after he undergoes further evaluation. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:33 pm
