    • Hunter Greene posts nine strikeouts vs. Pirates
Hunter Greene matched a season-high with nine strikeouts over 6 1/3 shutout innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Greene locked horns with Pirates starter Mitch Keller in a throwback pitcher’s duel on Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park, limiting Pittsburgh’s lineup to just four baserunners (two hits and a pair of hit batters) into the seventh inning. The hard-throwing 24-year-old right-hander’s four-seam fastball velocity was up slightly in this one to 98.5 mph as he generated an impressive 17 swinging strikes, with 16 of those courtesy of his fastball/slider combo. It was a relief to see him avoid handing out any free passes in this one after issuing a season-high five walks in his previous outing. He’ll carry a solid 3.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 98/37 K/BB ratio across 88 2/3 innings (15 starts) into a rematch against the Pirates on Tuesday back in Cincinnati. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago
    • Three more hits Tuesday
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

Advice: The Mets' offense has suddenly roared to life, scoring 52 runs over the course of a seven-game win streak, and it's perhaps no coincidence that Alvarez returned from his thumb injury the day before the streak started. The 22-year-old backstop has delivered back-to-back three-hit performances, boosting his slash line on the season to .269/.305/.372 through 24 contests with a homer, nine runs and 14 RBI. • Jazz Chisholm Jr. scratched with tight hamstring
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup because of right hamstring tightness.

Advice: He’s supposed to be available off the bench, but the Marlins changed their minds about starting him at DH. It’s just the third time this season that he’s been out of the starting lineup and the first time due to injury. Vidal Bruján is playing center field today after his game-winning hit last night. • Scratched with tight hamstring
Chisholm was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals due to right hamstring tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Marlins are labeling the move as precautionary, and Chisholm will be available off the bench, if needed. Chisholm will hope to return to the lineup Friday against the Mariners following the team's off day Thursday. Vidal Brujan will cover center field Wednesday while Chisholm exits the lineup. • Continues hot streak Tuesday
Happ went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Happ now has four straight two-hit efforts, which has pushed his season batting average from .212 up to .234. During the hot stretch, the outfielder has also gone deep twice and driven in seven runs. Happ has been a steady fantasy performer the last few years, and it looks like he'll deliver a similar level of performance in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 am

    • Josh Bell has two hits in win
Josh Bell went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Bell came into today just 12-for-52 (.231) in June after a really solid month of May that saw him hit .311 in 27 games. The veteran doesn’t have a tremendous stat line on the season, but he does have seven home runs and 32 RBI while striking out just 18 percent of the time. He remains one of the top first baseman on the trade block and could see a real boost in value if he finds himself in a better lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:53 pm

    • Willson Contreras (forearm) makes rehab debut at DH
Willson Contreras (forearm) went 1-for-3 with a run scored on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Contreras got in a handful of at-bats at designated hitter in his first minor league rehab contest since undergoing surgery back in early May to repair a left forearm fracture. There’s a strong possibility he’s back for St. Louis before the end of the month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Springer is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Springer has a .578 OPS through 273 plate appearances this season and will sit after going 4-for-26 while starting the previous eight contests. Addison Barger will take over in right field and bat sixth Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:54 pm

    • Lands on injured list
The Blue Jays placed Bichette on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to June 15, with a right calf strain.

Advice: The 26-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the calf issue and will be sidelined for at least another week after being diagnosed with a strain. According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, manager John Schneider expects Bichette to return from the injured list when first eligible June 25. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at shortstop Tuesday and could operate as Toronto's primary option there for the immediate future, and Orelvis Martinez was called up and should also see infield action while Bichette is sidelined.
