    • Dean Kremer (triceps) throws side session
Dean Kremer threw a side session Thursday and will likely soon begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: The Orioles were considering bringing Kremer back from a triceps strain without a rehab assignment, but it appears he’ll make a minor league start this weekend and then probably rejoin the Orioles next weekend. That opens the door for Cade Povich to perhaps get a start next week against the Yankees. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Toughs out five scoreless frames
Bassitt gave up five hits and four walks over five scoreless innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Brewers. He struck out five.

Advice: It didn't come easy for Bassitt on Wednesday, as he had to contend with the bases loaded in both the first and fourth innings, though he'd manage to escape unscathed. After a shaky start to the year, the 35-year-old Bassitt's been solid since the start of May, pitching to a 2.25 ERA in his last eight outings. Overall, he's 6-6 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 75:32 K:BB across 78.1 innings this season. Bassitt is currently in line to face the Red Sox at home in his next outing. • MRI comes back clean for Jurickson Profar (knee)
Jurickson Profar (knee) underwent a precautionary MRI exam on his injured knee on Wednesday that came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Padres’ fans and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief, as one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season won’t miss substantial time. He’s still considered day-to-day and should return to the Padres’ lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:00 pm
    • Labors in no-decision
Assad did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Assad opened with two scoreless frames then allowed a run in the third on a double by Isaac Paredes and another on a solo home run by Jose Siri in the fourth. With two runners on and two outs in the fifth, Assad was pulled at 90 pitches with a 2-1 deficit. Since his last win on May 15, Assad has failed to reach six innings or record a win in five straight outings and has seen his ERA climb from 1.49 to 2.81. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth versus Rays
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Tyson Miller stranded two runners after taking over for Assad in the fifth. After opening the season 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA in nine starts, Assad has gone 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five turns. The truth for Assad is somewhere in between, of course, but it’s probably a little closer to the latter than the former. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm

    • Nico Hoerner swipes two bases in return to lineup
Nico Hoerner went 1-for-4 with two steals Wednesday against the Rays in his return to the Cubs lineup.

Advice: Hoerner hadn’t started since suffering a hairline fracture in his hand Thursday. His two steals tonight gave him nine for the year, eight of which have come since May 1. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Logan O’Hoppe (groin) not in lineup on Wednesday
Logan O’Hoppe (groin) is not in the Angels’ starting lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: The 24-year-old backstop took a hard foul ball to the groin area on Tuesday, prompting his removal from the game. He’s still a bit sore on Wednesday so manager Ron Washington thought it would be wise to give him an extra night off. Matt Thaiss will do the catching for the Angels on Wednesday and will bat fifth against right-hander Slade Cecconi and the Diamondbacks. O’Hoppe should still be considered day-to-day. • Remains sidelined Wednesday
O'Hoppe (groin) isn't in the Angels' lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe had to leave Tuesday's game after getting hit below the belt by a foul tip, and he will remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest. Matt Thaiss will fill in behind the dish while batting fifth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm
    • Chris Bassitt settles for no-decision vs. Brewers
Chris Bassitt hurled five shutout innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Bassitt departed in line for the win after striking out five and scattering five hits and four walks over five frames, but Toronto’s bullpen was unable to hold on. The 35-year-old veteran righty has been on a roll over the last few weeks, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight consecutive starts since May 1. He’ll bring a solid 3.56 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 75/32 K/BB ratio across 78 1/3 innings (14 starts) into a favorable matchup on Tuesday against the Red Sox in Toronto. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:56 pm
