Tauchman homers twice, drives in four vs. Astros
Mike Tauchman went 2-for-3 with two homers and four RBI in the Cubs’ win over the Astros on Tuesday.
Advice: Tauchman’s home run came just shortly after Cody Bellinger kicked things off with a two-run homer of his own. Tauchman’s blast, his first of the year, plated three runs in total and pushed the Cubs out to a 5-0 lead, which proved to be more than enough for the Cubs, but Tauchman was just getting started. In the bottom of the eighth, Tauchman would send a 400-foot blast to center for his second homer of the day, padding the Cubs’ already solid lead. Tauchman is just above league average in exit velo and barrel rate this season. We wouldn’t read too much into this mini-power surge.
