    • Giancarlo Stanton carries Yankees against Orioles
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run, walk, and four RBI against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Stanton single-handedly brought the Yankees back in this one. First, his three-run home run off Yennier Cano cut the Orioles’ lead to 5-4 and then his ninth inning single off Craig Kimbrel sent this game to extra innings. The homer was his 18th in what’s been a tremendous bounce back season for the aging power hitter. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:14 pm
    • Royce Lewis homers again in loss to Rays
Royce Lewis clubbed his eighth home run of the season on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough for the Twins to overcome the Rays in extra innings.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar did his damage in the fifth inning, tagging Taj Bradley for a 410-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Twins a 2-1 advantage. That would wind up being the extent of their offense. He also singled twice in the ballgame, finishing the night 3-for-4. On the season, he’s slashing an absurd .380/.439/.900 to go along with the eight homers and 12 RBI in just 56 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:57 pm
    • Joe Ryan pitches well in no-decision vs. Rays
Joe Ryan was terrific in a no-decision against the Rays on Wednesday evening, surrendering just one run on six hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler struck out five batters on the night while allowing only one base on balls. The lone tally against him came on a 359-foot solo blast off the bat of Isaac Paredes in the third inning. Ryan generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on 94 pitches in the ballgame — 12 of those on his fastball — while registering a strong CSW of 36 percent. The right-hander will carry a terrific 3.13 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 95/15 K/BB ratio (92 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:57 pm

    • Wilyer Abreu on track to return over weekend
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters on Wednesday that Wilyer Abreu (ankle) is on track to rejoin the Red Sox over the weekend.

Advice: The 24-year-old will play the outfield on Wednesday evening at Triple-A Worcester and is expected to serve as their designated hitter on Thursday. The team hasn’t yet decided whether Abreu will return on Friday or Saturday, but as long as he makes it through the next two games unscathed, his return appears imminent. • Getting breather Wednesday
Rojas isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rojas will take a seat Wednesday after going 4-for-9 with an RBI and three runs scored through the first two games of the series. He will be replaced at shortstop by Enrique Hernandez, who will bat eighth. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:09 pm

    • Sitting again Wednesday
Wong is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: After making four consecutive starts behind the plate, Wong finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row. Wong still looks to be the Red Sox's No. 1 catcher, but manager Alex Cora may have wanted to reward backup Reese McGuire with another start after he drew two walks in Tuesday's 4-3 win. • Smacks homer Tuesday
Donovan went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Donovan has gone 15-for-51 (.294) over his last 13 games, adding two homers and seven RBI in that span. The 27-year-old got a rare start at third base Tuesday with Nolan Arenado taking a day off, though Donovan has found consistent playing time between left field and second base for much of the year. He's at a .247/.319/.380 slash line with six homers, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and one stolen base over 67 games. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:56 am

    • Goes yard again versus Texas
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

Advice: The veteran outfielder took Michael Lorenzen deep in the sixth inning, helping the Mets roar back from an early 6-2 deficit. Nimmo has gone yard in back-to-back games, and he's slashing .328/.381/.517 over 14 contests in June as he climbs out of an early-season hole. Despite the surge, his .766 OPS so far in 2024 would be Nimmo's lowest mark since his 32-game big-league debut in 2016. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:49 am
    • Hitless in first rehab game
Abreu (ankle) served as Triple-A Worcester's designated hitter and went 0-for-4 with a walk in his first rehab game Tuesday.

Advice: The Red Sox plan to have him play again for Worcester on Wednesday with the hope that he'll be ready to return from the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's series against the Reds in Cincinnati, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Abreu has been on the shelf since June 4 with a right ankle sprain. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:08 am
