      Fedde (5-3) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk over six innings while striking out five.

      Advice: Fedde got off to a rough start, surrendering a leadoff home run to Shohei Ohtani to open the game before getting tagged for another three runs in the third. The right-handed veteran would allow just one more hit over his final three frames, but the damage had already been done as the White Sox's offense failed to provide any run support. Fedde has now gone at least six innings in four consecutive starts and hasn't walked more than one batter in any of his six outings this month.     • Erick Fedde surrenders four runs in loss to Dodgers
      Erick Fedde allowed four runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Fedde served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani to lead off the first inning. He retired the next six batters before loading the bases with no outs in the third. Teoscar Hernandez drove a run in on a sacrifice fly before Freddie Freeman cleared the bases with a double. Fedde tossed three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with five strikeouts. The 31-year-old right-hander will take a 3.23 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 91/25 K/BB ratio across 100 1/3 innings into a start against the Guardians in Cleveland on Tuesday.       Gore (6-7) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Padres.

      Advice: Gore struggled against the team that drafted him, as the Padres put up multiple runs in the first and fifth innings. He may have been rattled by the two teams clearing the benches in the first inning after Keibert Ruiz and Jurickson Profar exchanged words -- Gore's next pitch hit Profar on the back foot, and the one after that was crushed by Manny Machado for a two-run homer. The southpaw has lost three of his five starts in June, giving up 18 runs (17 earned) over 26.1 innings. He's now at a 3.81 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 99:28 K:BB through 85 innings across 16 starts on the year. Gore is projected to make his next start at home versus the Mets.       MacKenzie Gore surrendered five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Gore was lucky not to be tossed at the beginning of this one, as he hit Jurickson Profar in the back leg with a pitch right after warnings were issued because of some thoroughly unnecessary jawing and a benches-clearing incident. Gore’s pitch, though, didn’t seem to be intentional. It did lead to an ejection anyway, as Padres manager Mike Shildt was ejected for taking issue with Gore not being tossed.       Suarez (10-2) took the loss against the Tigers on Tuesday, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Suarez opened with four scoreless innings but ran into trouble in the fifth, allowing four runs on five hits in the frame. He rebounded with a scoreless sixth but departed with a 4-0 deficit. This was just the second time Suarez allowed four earned runs in an outing this season, as he had allowed only four total earned runs in 20.1 June innings prior to Tuesday.     • Ranger Suárez stumbles in loss to Tigers
      Ranger Suárez allowed four runs over six innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: Suárez was simply outdueled by Tigers ace Tarik Skubal on Tuesday night at Comerica Park as the pair traded zeroes until the fifth inning when Detroit’s lineup struck for four runs on five hits in the frame. He finished with four punchouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. It was just the second time this season through 16 starts that he’s allowed four earned runs or more.     • Forced to IL with blister issue
      The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left finger blister.

      Advice: Lodolo battled the blister issue during his start this past Sunday against the Red Sox, and the Reds have opted to give the left-hander some down time in order to let the finger heal. He had been slated to start Friday in St. Louis, but the Reds will now need a substitute. Graham Ashcraft has pitched well in two starts since being demoted to Triple-A Louisville, so he's a candidate to take Lodolo's spot. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:39 am

    • Reds place Nick Lodolo on IL with finger blister
      Reds placed LHP Nick Lodolo on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 24, with a left finger blister.

      Advice: Lodolo was ineffective against the Red Sox on Sunday, and it’s possible the blister had something to do with the issue. He’ll be out of action for a couple of weeks, and it seems likely that Graham Ashcraft will take his spot in the rotation. In the meantime, Yosver Zulueta is up to take Lodolo’s spot on the roster.       Matt Waldron pitched six innings of two-run ball Monday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Waldron struck out eight in a sixth straight quality start. He threw the knuckler 46 times tonight and wound up with nothing but soft contact against the pitch. There’s still not a whole lot to like about the rest of his arsenal, but the knuckleball has come far enough this year to make him a fine bet going forward. Rotoworld Monday, 10:20 pm
