    • Houck allows two earned runs in no-decision Monday
Tanner Houck allowed three runs (two earned) in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Red Sox’ 7-6 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Houck gave up five hits, walked one and struck out seven. Boston only scored two runs while he was in the game before coming back to win late. Houck’s ERA is now 2.18 on the year and his 101 strikeouts on the season rank inside the top 15 in all of baseball. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home this weekend.

    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) shut down for a week
The Dodgers are shutting down Clayton Kershaw for a week to address the soreness in his shoulder.

Advice: An MRI detected nothing new in Kershaw’s surgically repaired shoulder. If the soreness clears up quickly, he still might rejoin the Dodgers not long after the break. If it continues to linger, the Dodgers might wait and try to aim for a September return. Rotoworld Monday, 4:37 pm

    • Shut down for one week
Kershaw will be shut down for at least one week after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder during a bullpen session over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Kershaw underwent an MRI, which didn't reveal any new damage to the shoulder, so the hope is that this is just a minor setback. He had been slated for his second rehab start Tuesday, but that will be delayed indefinitely. Kershaw was still several weeks away from a return even before the setback and now any timetable would be approximate. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:24 pm

    • Collects fourth straight win
Myers (5-2) allowed one run on five hits and struck out three without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win Sunday over the Padres.

Advice: Myers is undefeated in June, going 4-0 with just two runs allowed over 25.1 innings across four starts. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 3.12 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB over 52 innings through 11 appearances (10 starts) this season. Sunday was the first time since May 31 that he didn't pitch past the fifth inning -- he exited with 78 pitches (56 strikes). He's tentatively lined up to make his next start at home versus the Cubs. • Tobias Myers dominates again in win over Padres
Tobias Myers picked up his fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, limiting the Padres to just one run on five hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler struck out three batters on the afternoon and didn’t issue a free pass. The lone tally against him came on a two-out RBI single by Luis Arraez in the fifth inning, then Myers punched out Jurickson Profar to end that threat. He got seven swings and misses on 78 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.12 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 45/16 K/BB ratio (52 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Cubs in Milwaukee. • Nick Lodolo takes first loss since May
Nick Lodolo lost to the Red Sox after yielding four runs — three earned — in 4 2/3 innings Sunday.

Advice: Lodolo hadn’t allowed more than two runs in winning five straight starts since returning from the IL, but he didn’t have quite the same stuff today. With his curveball a little off, he settled for seven missed swings in the 77-pitch outing. He also walked four. He’ll look to start a new winning streak next weekend against the Cardinals; that’s the team he beat a month ago to begin the one that concluded today. Rotoworld Jun 23, 2:30 pm

    • Max Fried keeps Yankees bats at bay
Max Fried allowed one run on six hits in six innings in a win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: It wasn’t a dominant outing for the left-hander, but he allowed just one extra-base hit all day and was able to pitch his way out of any trouble that he found himself in. He induced just seven whiffs on 39 swings for an 18 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW, but that’s a pretty solid day against a good Yankees lineup. Fried is now 7-3 with a 3.00 ERA on the year and is set up for a solid start against the Pirates next week. Rotoworld Jun 23, 2:27 pm

    • Limited by blister
Lodolo was limited Sunday versus the Red Sox as a result of a blister on his left index finger, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Lodolo tossed 4.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks while striking out three batters against Boston. The left-hander was tagged with the loss, while the four free passes were a season high, which is likely the result of the blister on his throwing hand. Following the contest, Lodolo said that "the feeling for the ball was not the same," but that it's "not impacting him a ton," so it's possible he'll be ready to go for his next start. The 26-year-old is tentatively set to return to the mound Friday in St. Louis, but his status will be worth monitoring in the coming days. Rotowire.com Jun 23, 2:27 pm

    • Paul Skenes strong for seven against Rays
Paul Skenes was uninvolved in the decision Sunday after allowing one run in seven innings and striking out eight against the Rays.

Advice: The homer off the bat of Yandy Díaz led off the game. The Rays had no further luck, though, at least not until Skenes left the game to begin the eighth. It’s the first time in eight big-league starts that Skenes has gotten through seven. He still hasn’t taken a loss, and his ERA stands at 2.14. Rotoworld Jun 23, 2:14 pm
