    • Yoshida (thumb) picks up hit in rehab game in AAA
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Yoshida was the designated hitter for the WooSox on Saturday, and he’s scheduled to DH again for Worcester on Sunday. Assuming those games go well, the 30-year-old is expected to rejoin the Red Sox at some point later this week. He should be in the lineup on close to an everyday basis once he’s back. • Begins rehab assignment
Yoshida (thumb) started as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab game for Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

Advice: Yoshida played the first of two rehab games as the DH for Worcester and said that he felt no pain coming out of either contest, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports. He'll serve as Worcester's DH again Sunday, and the Red Sox hope to have him back from the 10-day injured list by the end of the week. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:11 am

    • Shifts to 60-day IL
Atlanta transferred Acuna (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Advice: The 26-year-old recently underwent season-ending surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, so it was only a matter of time before he was moved to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Acuna will have nearly 10 months of recovery and rehab before Opening Day in 2025, so there's a chance he's ready for the start of next season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:48 am

    • Atlanta moves Acuña Jr. to 60-day injured list
Braves transferred OF Ronald Acuña Jr. from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: It’s a procedural move that creates room on the 40-man roster. Acuña Jr. will miss the rest of 2024 after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:37 am

    • Getting breather Saturday
Langford is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Langford will sit for the first time since returning from the IL on May 28 due to a hamstring injury. Since his return, Langford has slashed .235/.257/.324 with four RBI over 34 at-bats. The lefty-hitting Travis Jankowski will start in left field Saturday and bat seventh against Giants right-hander Spencer Howard. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:49 am

    • Wyatt Langford absent from Saturday’s lineup
Wyatt Langford is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Giants.

Advice: Langford heads to the bench with backstop Jonah Heim at designated hitter and veteran Travis Jankowski drawing a rare start in left field. The 22-year-old rookie is batting .235 with zero homers and four RBI in nine contests since returning from the injured list back on May 28. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:42 am

    • Resting versus lefty
Varsho isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Left-hander Hogan Harris will start on the bump for Oakland, so the lefty-hitting Varsho will watch the beginning of Friday's game from the dugout. Davis Schneider will handle left field, while Isiah Kiner-Falefa gets the start at second base and Ernie Clement fills in at the hot corner. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:58 pm

    • Undergoes ACL surgery
Acuna underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The reigning NL MVP had already been ruled out for the season, but Acuna will now be able to begin rehabbing from the injury he suffered May 26. The 26-year-old underwent ACL surgery on his right knee in 2021, so he's familiar with the process. Acuna's injury that year happened in mid-July, not late May, and the difference could allow him to be ready for Opening Day in 2025. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:22 am

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. undergoes surgery to repair torn ACL
Ronald Acuña Jr. underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

Advice: Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the procedure in Los Angeles. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Thursday that Acuña will stay in Los Angeles for “a month or more” at the outset of his rehabilitation process, which is expected to carry into the early portion of next year. There’s optimism that the 26-year-old fantasy superstar will be ready for the start of next season, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:24 pm
